The reason the seatbelt analogy still applies is because, in the event of an accident, it prevents you from then becoming a projectile and potentially taking out someone else also. And we know that seatbelts are only one level of protection in an accident (like air bags, speed limits, designated sides of the road to drive on, traffic lights, etc.) that are optimized when used together, in both preventing accidents and minimizing injury in the event of one.

Maybe there's a way to look into how to make your lawns biodiverse in California. Sounds like if other species would be eating the crickets, then you wouldn't have a black widow problem. (My partner is a landscape ecologist and this is just a very simple explanation. We're very into the biodiverse lawn movement, because grass lawns/monocultures require so much water vs. mixed-grass lawns or whatever works for specific climate. It's much better for the ecosystem, for animals, controls pests better.)
I am in a different part of Cali than them but how I would I even google this to find people in my area? Is there a website to regulate or hire someone to help figure this out with my yard
There are a few subreddits that discuss this even for certain regions, there are some for California. But yes, you can Google native landscaping and your area and find some information.

Same! My husband's family is from Greece and they make huge Greek spreads about once a year. I had never eaten homemade Greek food until I met him. It's SO delicious. I hope to visit Greece one day as well.
I feel your pain, Keith! I was on the swim team in high school and ruptured my left eardrum during a swim meet. Not a fun experience. I was uncomfortable for two weeks, but the eardrum healed with antibiotic ear drops.

I’m part Greek and I’ve been to Greece and I can confirm that there are cats EVERYWHERE 🐱 which is amazing but also sad cuz you wish you could adopt them all and this is coming from a dog lover!
My mom's family is from Kefalonia and I've grown up going there my entire life! I'm so happy you got to enjoy Greece's beauty, even the absolute madness of the ferries lmaooo

I ruptured both of my eardrums when I was in middle school. My ears didn't drain well and I had been swimming sooooo much that summer. In the middle if the night, one broke, and the crack was so loud it woke me up. It hurt so I rolled over and CRACK went the other one. Then they just leaked and leaked. I had to start 7th grade with cotton balls in my ears.
The Everybody Poops movie could be Emoji Movie/Inside Out style with all the poops having different personalities. Could also function as a Sausage Party sequel tbh

I recommend that Keith learn freediving so he can learn how to protect his ear drums when diving by equalizing. It is also possible to go down with a full lung using proper technique, and it is actually quite dangerous to exhale everything just to decrease one's buoyancy.
This story about the ferry in Greece is EXACTLY what I experienced when I travelled there 😂 it’s chaotic
I love that through the progression of the TryPod, Miles gives okay advice and then the guys (usually Keith or Ned) give better advice. We still love you Miles 😂

Sorry to hear about your ruptured eardrum, Keith, it is so painful. I had one rupture on a plane on a business trip due a horrible sinus infection, it freaked the guy sitting next to me as he heard it pop. Luckily I was going to train an ENT office on software and got some great meds that numbed my whole ear canal. Had to drive home from Chicago and not fly for a month.
Having a hole in my left ear and issues in my right since a kid, I understood that pain Keith went through. My most vivid memory is at the beach as a kid, getting knocked down by a wave. I inhaled water, eyes open, and water rushed into my ears. Dad plucked me up from the water and the pain hit me. :')
They should’ve sang grease lightning after summer nights when Keith introduced his trip to Greece!
Keith’s ferry take, everyone’s stunned about it but here in India that sounds so normal 😂 I am not surprised by this because that is every ferry ride I’ve ever taken
My eardrum burst once just by a wave crashing over me. It was awful and super disorienting especially bc i kept having to deal with incoming waves. The pain is SOOO intense. (Pretty sure i played it off as a minor inconvenience to my friend i was with and was like “hey let’s just chill in the sand now”

In scuba diving you're taught to equalise the pressure in your ears roughly every metre (3ft) you go down to prevent injury, so it's definitely possible to swim deep enough to rupture your ear drums!

My husband had a dog named Ginger who used to run around the back yard and catch bees in her mouth all spring and summer long. She always had swollen cheeks from all the bee stings!!! He said she'd regularly run up to him with a buzzing sound coming from her mouth. LOL
Zach if your worried about the dog we put a cat door in our spare room door so the cat could have her own space if our dog wouldn't leave it alone. Worked out great. Just an idea love you guys

I've had a ruptured ear drum for over a year! Mine chose not to heal on it's own, so it's earplugs for me! And yes sometimes when I blow my nose I hear the air rushing out through my sinuses lol

The YOTEL is the COOLEST hotel I have ever stayed in. my family stayed in the YOTEL in Times Square years ago, probably in like 2016. It was much more affordable to stay at the hotel back then, and everything felt futuristic and crazy to us. It’s seriously a very cool hotel & is definitely worth staying at. I’m glad you guys talked about it and that Keith has stayed!!!🥰

I just saw Lewberger in Tacoma Washington and I had a wicked ear infection. It was so miserable and reminded me of this podcast episode. I can feel Keith’s pain now, I’ve literally birthed children naturally and ear pain is way worse imo!

I got stung by a bee as an adult during Christmas because I went outside shoeless but wearing footed tights to chase after my toddler cousin who bolted out into the grass. Came back into my mom’s house to open presents and was sitting looking at a hole I noticed in the toes of my tights, when I also noticed a bee crawling out of it! I said “Oh, there’s a bee!” And everyone went “what are you talking about?” And right then the bee stung me on the toe.

Ok update yes the side effects for me were a little stronger than anticipated but I think it's the same for some people that got the second dose. I did get the fever, body aches and a very bad headache. That all went away yesterday thank goodness

Yup, he does it most episodes. People who interrupt, "one-up" etc. is one of my biggest pet peeves and why I prefer You Can Sit With Us. I understand that he has either ADD or ADHD (I can't remember which) but his ability to not be able to share within a conversation is annoying.
He has ADHD and interrupting is sadly a very common symptom. Sometimes you don't realize you're doing it, but other times you realize it but can't stop. It's a big struggle and it makes me sad that everyone always hates on him for it.
