    beautiful again!
    How could you change the strings? Eventually two, three or more strings, nearely parallel?
    using a thinner long tube (bundled up), So if you pour in some different colours they could change slightly after time ...
    A little périodique switch in the throttle, to get very many short lines ...
    I love your setting with the three colors.

    Удивительно красивые и в то же время загадочные рисунки получаются. Поражает то, что обычная ёмкость с жидкостью, подвешенная на нитке, способна нарисовать шедевр, который человек даже представить себе не может.

    What I did with the paint is use an old canvas drop cloth, paint it with a background color and let dry, then I made the pattern with paint, it made a defined line and didn't bleed/soak in. I like the glue bottle top idea... I just poked a hole I think.

    Hello Mr Yeany, I was watching a previous video of yours on this topic and saw the "teach us how to become viral" comment and your response. I just wanted to ask what are your favourite topics or videos you have done over the course of running your channel? I only subscribed today and am interested in what the creator finds the most interesting to them. You could also take this as an idea to maybe do a recap of your favourite 5 or so experiments for a compilation video and then link to the originals for us to watch in the description. Thank you for your passionate channel and I am sure your students will remember your classes fondly as they grow up. Have a great day!

      That's a really good idea, but a tough one for me to choose the favorites. Even though I taught for 41 years, I still am amazed by the behavior of so many of the devices shown here. I think a few of my favorites are the smoke rings. (vortex rings) under water, hanging rope with slow waves, the static electricity affects on flowing oobleck. I also have enjoyed various projects that my students were challenged to put together. They never failed to impress me with their ingenuity

    • @planchetflaw

      @@YeanyScience Thanks for your response and those suggestions. I watched the underwater smoke rings earlier and must say the idea of using an indicator solution with the pH changes was so clever. I'll definitely prioritise a peek at your personal favourites.

    I'm a 4th grade math teacher who loves art and am fascinated by physics and math. I'm curious about what equations one would use to describe the movement of pendulums.

    • @YeanyScience
      @YeanyScience  4 года назад

      Hi Seth, probably the most helpful is the period of a pendulum. T = (L / g)1/2, g stands for the acceleration due to gravity. L is the length of the string to the bob, T is the unit of time in seconds. If you check back in my videos, there is one that offer a series of activities to try with pendulums for students. if you want the write up for it, contact me at Bgoknee@comcast.net

  • @boggers

    Great video, thanks! Have you ever tried this with a double pendulum? (aka chaos pendulum) should be easy to set it up, you'd just need to add a weight some way up the string. Might be even more chaotic than a regular double pendulum, as the weight ratio would change over time. I'd love to see how that would turn out...

    • @YeanyScience
      @YeanyScience  5 лет назад

      I do hope to show some additional ideas on pendulums, I think I have some more ideas to try

    • @boggers
      @boggers 5 лет назад

      @@YeanyScience thanks for replying, I looked a bit deeper into it, the idea has been done before, if you search harmonograms you can see some examples, although it looks as though people usually use complicated setups to record the motion of the middle pendulum. I'm going to set one up to take a look but I'm more interested in tuning the ratios so that the final pendulum teeters at the edge of chaotic systems, if it all goes perfectly I'll get images of a strange attractor.
