The Kickstarter box has finally arrived, in no small part due to Eldorado Games sacrificing almost all of their profits for the sake of keeping the price down post shipping crisis and covid. I have played it solo, and it is fantastic. The tactical depth of the base game is great, and I love the feel of generating novel solutions to the changing world state, while also considering the interactions with other players.
I'm looking forward to trying out the expansion; the Kolkra looks sick, and the treasure hunting mechanic really does look to round this out into the quintessential game of all naval/aerial adventure tropes from piracy and ship battles, to treasure hunting and kracken dodging.
It seems really good. The wind and movement mechanics appear confusing, though. I couldn't see the moves your friend made before he executed them, and neither completely understood the moves he did to get to you. All in all it seems pretty solid, the gameplay and the production. I'll check out the retail version once it's out.
It’s a solid game - the angles / our speed of play may have made some of the movement patterns confusing (it’s very simple to play to be honest - while being a moderately complex puzzle) - you can’t move against the wind, you get a free move with the wind, and you spend one movement action to move anywhere else including into port, the rifts, or around the globe.
What a beautiful playthrough! This game seems very interesting and the theme is fantastic! Thank you for the awesome content! Side note- really want to know what song is playing at 14:00 - love it!!
I just saw this game for the first time today with an expansion. This actually looks awesome. I'm dwelling on, Frostpunk, Darkest Dungeon or this. Darkest dungeon looks like it will be at around $300 and that might be to much for me. Frostpunk also seems very good, however this game got my eye because the art and simplicity really seems like something more friend will play. I already have many other massive games to break out.
It's pretty sweet. 😛 Still, there's a few thousand copies of it out now, so; could find one on a KS secondary site, or fish the forums to find an owner to play with in your area. No better way to make new friends! 😄
Hey! Nope there is a solo mode where you have to hunt all the red creators and not stop at the port overnight because the citizens will pillage the ship. It’s way more puzzle focused - but is a interesting and challenging solo mode.
Really enjoyed this play through. I lost it when he said, “What does daddy want?” 😂

Cresters only ever attack the player who’s turn it is.
Love this playthrough man! 😁 beautiful game
Thank you! :) it’s a really interesting little game! I was glad they got me a copy before the KS launched!
fyi when hiring crew you dont have to just hire the one on the top, rules say hire any of them.

24:55 had me laughing. That was gold!

What does the gas do? Cause if you can just preform the action with your first mate how does the trading board help anything?
They await the King.... love your shirt and your videos. Please try to make some more KD:M stuff ;)
Working on it XD - promise!

dont you have to spend gas when at port to take supply cards, hire crew etc? how did you do it for free at beginning?
They used mate actions when in port
You play combat cards after rolling dice.
Multiplayer only, I presume?
