  • Adding scales to your repertoire is a great way to enhance your practice sessions, improve your finger strength and coordination, and work your way towards better melody and solo playing. Here you will learn two scales for ukulele: The C major scale and a similar sounding cousin, the G mixolydian scale.

19 months into playing ukulele and I’m just starting scales. Thank you for this.

This video was a surprisingly big step forward in my playing. Very few lessons are as compelling and light (not overwhelming) on the music theory, truly feels like you just want everyone to be able to play tropical bass 👍

Second video I've seen on your channel, and I was gobsmacked that I had forgotten to sub.
I'm learning the fretboard, and know the scales, but I was so glad you introduced modes.

It's all starting to make sense. Not as much as playing a song by reading the chords...you need us to hear it, not just read it and be able to use more of the neck. How cool. It's being to make sense...yup...thank you for alll your patience.

Great video. Can you share with me please - what kind of electronics do I need to record my self playing and then loop it back so I can practice soloing over it ? As you did - thank you

Hi! If you have a pickup to plug in your ukulele, you can use a looper pedal.

I still don't understand why it's a myxolidian scale and not just a broken up C scale?
If you started your improv on the second string of the top(open) C scale are you now playing a myxolidian G or just a fragmented C?
    Anyone? Thanks. 😃

What did you use to create the "loop"?
