This is the only song that can even come close to expressing how I felt towards a beautiful woman I once was with. She was heroin! I lived this song for a few short months. Thanks Pete for writing it down.

Nobody ever mentions Tony Butler on this set of videos. He was the bass player for Big Country, Simon Townshend's early band, and a bunch of Pete's albums. He composed the classic bass line for the Pretenders' "My City Was Gone". He is one of the best and most tasteful bassists ever.

I wrote to him back in the early 80s.....I didnt have his address but I knew he had a recording studio in a little town called Twickenham England.
I figured small town and hes well known so I just addressed it "Pete Townshend Twickenham England".
A year went by......I forgot all about writing to him and I get a letter from him.....he apologized for taking so long to write back to me and sent an autographed picture.
I still have it in his "Scoops" solo album.

The two women on the cover are not his daughters. His daughters were little girls in 1980. Who the hell would pose for an album cover using his daughters as two groupies sitting at a bar tempting him sexually?
