The lgbtq apologists who use Matthew 19 to affirm their lifestyle have an errant interpretation of what Jesus was saying. Because Original Sin has corrupted every aspect of humanity, I believe Jesus explained 1) the natural biological anomalies ( born that way : D.D.C. .01 of the opulation), and 2) people who were 'made' eunuchs : by order of masters or magistrates and 3) People who self emasculated or LIVE that way by ABSTAINING >For the Glory of God. Gender transition is not new, it’s ancient. But it originated in paganism, and the same demon who inspired this practice is obviously still around in our modern society. However, check out Isaiah 56:4-5. If they repent and follow Him, God not only accepts those who have damaged their bodies (or been forced to do so), but He will give them a special place and a special name in His house. The phrase “cut off” is referring the “second death”in Revelation 20 & 21. So if they do what pleases Him, they’ll be given eternal life. Praise God for His mercy and love!
So many flawed philosophical views underpin our society's value system. It turned from Christendom to secular self-idolatry in the form of relativism and solipsism and glorified pleasure with the tenets of hedonism. Part of what we can do to cure the culture is to learn more about the philosophical foundations of a Christian worldview. I'm posting a video series on this on my channel on Fridays.
Mormonism? Are you 100 percent he's Mormon? Either way, although Mormons need true salvation through the real gospel, they believe in God, integrity and the family unit is sacred. To compare Mormons to the homosexual community is absurd. The homosexual community needs Jesus too. Let's not forget He came for all not some.
I am seeking guidance. My best best friend felt the call of the Lord to go to Japan and spread the Gospel. He has been gone for about 5 years. He is coming home in March. During an extended conversation last night, he revealed to me that he is embracing the idea that he is bi-sexual. He now doesn't believe that Homosexuality is sin. He denies it is in the Bible.... to double down he started giving me reasons why the Bible is filled with errors. These are things I never thought my rock solid Christian friend would say... especially the latter. he has become a progressive Christian. I have really sharpened my apologetic ability in the last few years. I presented him with the "arsenokoitai" translation that it means "men lying with men". He completely deflected that holding to the idea that the Bible had no category for "committed same sex relationships". I am so painfully grieved. My best friend left America so rock solid (in my mind) as a Christian. Now for the first time in my 17+ year relationship I am questioning his stability as a Christian. I have no idea how to proceed. I am anxious about his return and feel panicked about our future relationship. I am hoping for some guidance.
Paul warned against sexual idolatry as an indicator of false conversion and as a way for Christians to experience chastisement that leads to physical death. He also said that the purpose of mortal chastisement was “that he might be preserved in the judgment.” God is not a deadbeat Father who lets His children perish in hell. If you are trusting do’s and don’ts for your salvation, you’re not trusting God. Study Hebrews 12 and 1 Corinthians 3, 5, & 11. God won’t let you perish, once your faith is in Him alone.
Near the end of this video Voddie appeared to dismiss the idea that, in his words, “sexual orientation is a real thing”. I assume (although I invite him to clarify) that he meant to suggest that people have a choice in who they are attracted to. The following is a direct quote from a 2008 article published by the American Psychological Association: “ There is no consensus among scientists about the exact reasons that an individual develops a heterosexual, bisexual, gay, or lesbian orientation. Although much research has examined the possible genetic, hormonal, developmental, social, and cultural influences on sexual orientation, no findings have emerged that permit scientists to conclude that sexual orientation is determined by any particular factor or factors. Many think that nature and nurture both play complex roles; most people experience little or no sense of choice about their sexual orientation.” It would appear that experts in the field of psychology who have devoted their lives and careers to studying human behavior would disagree with Voddie and Alisa on this matter. Jesus himself stated in Matthew 19:12 that “there are eunuchs who have been so from birth”. That would appear to be at odds with Paul’s claims in Romans 1:24 that “God gave them over in the desires of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves” and Romans 1:26 that “God gave them over to dishonorable passions”. Are some people born with different sexual orientations or are different sexual orientations a punishment inflicted by God? Interestingly enough, Jesus’ statements appear to be in agreement with science whereas Paul, as usual, appears to contradict both.
Eunuch doesn't have anything to do with the sexual orientation. An eunuch is a castrat ed person. So the only explanation for eunuchs from birth are inters ex people, which are by chromosomens women or men, but doesn't have the same outside body parts. Or people with a genetic defect. So, there is no connection at all to the sexual orientation
To the point of desires of their heart. You know, there are people who do things for trends, who do it because of trauma, because of spiritual warfare, there are different reasons. They know what is right and wrong, but want to do it anyway. They won't stop. You can argue with them, give them explanations, they don't care. They don't want to hear the truth, because they want to do, what they want. If they know it's wrong and still do it over and over and over and over again, without feeling guilty, then there is a problem. God can see if the people will change their mind, or if their hearts are hard. It's like with the Pharao. So I don't see a contradiction there.
And one study doesn't mean anything. Results depend on the people who finance the studies. First. Second it's not a good source, because they harm people. This year they announced a new policy urging clinics to provide "unobstructed access" to gender-transitioning treatments for children. There are studies which show most of the children grow out of it, but they still want them to do surgery. So, I wouldn't care about anything they say. There are a lot of other psychologist, who also studies these topics, with different results, but people don't hear them.
@faith-hearted1449 εὐνοῦχοι, the masculine, plural, nominative case of ευνουχος, is commonly translated as “eunuchs”. The Greek word can mean a number of things. In addition to a male who has been castrated it can also refer to someone who abstains from sexual relations. The definition of the English word “eunuch” also has more than one definition and, according to Merriam-Webster, can refer to “one who lacks virility or power”. Either of the definitions may suggest an orientation other than heterosexual; a less masculine male with sexual preferences that distinguish him from his peers. Using only one possible definition because it serves one’s purpose is dishonest. To your second point, you presume to know the thoughts and motivations of everyone with a different sexual orientation than your own. You don’t. Little more needs to be said in response to that point. Finally, the article I cited is not a “case study”, as you put it. The APA examined the findings of a number of studies and provided their evaluation of the consensus reached. I suggest you visit their website and explore it if you wish to learn more. If you know of peer-reviewed studies from credible sources that offer alternative views I suggest you cite them as evidence. Otherwise your claims that the APA is “not a good source” and that “they harm people” are baseless and irrelevant to this discussion.
