Wow korea is BEAUTIFUL in the spring! Congrats on the mask mandate being lifted outdoors 🥳 sarah, i’m dying at how calm you were when that caterpillar was in your hair 😂
It’s so beautiful here in the spring, but it really doesn’t last, so we’re trying our best to get out there as much as we can 💚 LOL, and I grew up in Canada catching all kinds of critters-a little inch worm is nothing 😂 If it were a hornet though, THEN I would’ve been freaking out 💦
A Buddhist temple I recommend near Seoul is 수종사 in Namyangju, Gyeonggi. It's at the top of a mountain and you can look over this gorgeous river. Great on a sunny day, but if you go when it's cloudy, it's also so cool because you can see all the mist and clouds going by.
aaaaaa so beautiiifuuuullll!!!! the colours of the lanterns are so vibrant. the chanting of the monk made me feel so peaceful. I guess I'll replay this video every time I need a break from work. thanks for making the trip!
Oh that temple was so beautiful especially the statue and the lanterns. This spot is definitely on my list of places to visit for the next time I come to South Korea!
I went to Cheongyyesan about 3 weeks ago! It was so nice! I went to the other temple and it was really pretty there! I saw a big buddha statue standing up there instead. I did not manage to go to the one you went to though :( the weather has been so good recently as well! ☀️ ☀️
I love how you frame the shots so beautifully! And hearing all the sounds of the temple. Gorgeous spring day! I found in Nova Scotia (in Cape Breton anyway) that when they dropped the masks in buildings most people were eating them at first. I feel like it's about 50% in masks these days. I teach so I still wear a mask all day, it feels like I will be in trouble with no mask in Walmart haha.
Thank you so much! So glad you enjoyed it ☺️ We’ll definitely still be wearing our masks indoors everywhere when we visit N.S. Anywhere there’s not good air circulation, it’s a good idea imo!
You guys this was so phenomenal, never seen something so therapeutic, beautifully shot. 🌟petition to create a Pinterest account, with all the scenic views captured by you guys !! It’s funny because it’s the opposite in Canada right now. I was in a crowded space outside so I wore a mask (I am someone at risk so I am extra careful) and I was almost the only one wearing one. Lovely video as always. You’ve become part of my Sunday morning routine. ☺️

Glad to see you guys enjoying beautiful nature & Temple. How nice Breathe fresh air without barrier(=Mask😅) Hope this, 'without mask' last forever in this world 🙏
That was a beautiful temple! I hope to go there one day. I also highly recommend Gilsangsa (Temple) around Buddha's birthday, that was one of the most gorgeous places I've been to in Korea. Also have you been to Andong? That place would make a lovely travel vlog as well, with Hahoe Folk Village and Dosan Seowon (a Confucian academy) in particular as some beautiful spots. Don't mean to backseat vlog but I just thought I'd recommend :)
Wow, that was phenomenal! Btw, the little green guy on Sarah's hair at the beginning of the video, we would call it an inch worm here in New Brunswick :)
As to the mask thing - we are in the Pacific North West of the USA. Mask mandates are only in place for public transport, medical facilities etc. We don’t wear a mask outside in situations where it’s not crowded but always still wear them in stores and other crowded public situations. I finally felt brave enough to eat in a restaurant the other day. First time for other than takeout in over two years! We think we will continue to wear masks in public spaces for the reasons you addressed - haven’t had a cold or flu since 2019! And we have not had Covid, neither of us. Thank you for sharing your lives with us. It’s so beautiful there in the spring!
Woah, we still haven’t eaten inside a restaurant (unless all the windows are open and there’s great ventilation) for about 2 years-definitely not brave enough 😅
We don't have mask mandates in my state anymore, but like where you are, some people still wear masks anyway, lol. Not as many as I would like to see, but I'm definitely one of the ones that does. I don't wanna get covid and I also don't want the flu, colds, stomach viruses, etc. Yesterday I went to a wool festival in a neighboring state with my housemate (she knits/crochets, I needle felt, we're old ladies :D) and we had to wear masks in all the indoor spaces even though they were open on both ends. We were both actually really comforted by that. Also, it was unseasonably cold and pouring rain so it was actually nice to have a warm face with the mask! 🤣😂🤣 That temple and the view were so beautiful, wow! Kyuho said "wow" so many times 😂🤣😂, I don't blame him, everything just seemed so peaceful and beautiful! I would love to visit a place like that someday. Have a great week guys, enjoy breathing the outdoor air!
Yup, the vast majority of people here still prefer to wear masks outdoors, especially in the city areas where you’re passing a lot of people. We have no issues at all with this! :) So many people here also like the fact that they were sick a lot less when wearing masks regularly. So glad you enjoyed the video~ 😊💚
I suddenly felt so at peace with the lanterns in the wind and how beautiful the temple was. The weatherseems really great to go outside, here is the opposite as is autumn but it got really cold out of nowhere. It's not mandatory to wear a mask outside here but I will keep it on LOL Since I was little, I've been a person who gets sick easily and all the time, and I hate getting sick so I'll keep my mask on forever LOL just kidding but I think it was really useful for me during winter and allergy season. In summer though, it was torture.
We have a similar situation here in Germany. When the mask mandate inside buildings was dropped (Not in medical facilities or other specific buildings) people didn't stop wearing masks. I felt guilty when I entered a shop/store without my mask because everyone else was wearing it (and even now, at least 50% of the customers I see in a store are still wearing them inside). Everyone is still scared to get ill.
You still have to wear masks indoors here and in all public transport, which were 100% fine with. It still feels super weird to not be wearing masks outside, even though we only take them off in quieter areas.
I hope that some of the people who still wear them indoors do it to protect the vulnerable ones because it seems like almost the whole world has given up on us/them. As a high risk patient I am grateful for every single person who still wears a mask indoors, especially at the pharmacy, grocery store or bank. I wish healthy people wouldn't think it's such a huge burden to wear a mask to run small errands that literally take less than an hour. As for the mask mandate in Korea, I think they have learned from the past since they had to deal with several virus outbreaks way before C. and it's definitely better to be safe than sorry. It's a smart move to keep mask mandates indoors for the time being.
They’ve pretty much dropped mask mandates here for both outdoor and indoor. My daughter is a speech language pathologist who works for the public school system and, even though her whole family is triple vaccinated, she brought home a little surprise last week. She thought she had a bad sinus infection but when she tested herself for Covid the test was positive. Of course her husband got it a couple days later. Bad part was that she was sick on her birthday. Neither of them got too sick, though, so that’s good. I think she can go back to work this Thursday. I think outside it’s pretty safe to go maskless but I’m still wearing one indoors, too. Around here, I think I’m practically the only one but I REALLY hate getting sick so I’ll probably wear it forever when I’m inside a people-y place. 🤣😂🤣🤪😷 But outside, not so much.
Beautiful scenery. I can relate to how you felt like you were doing something wrong by not wearing your mask even when you were outdoors. I felt the same way when the mask mandate was lifted and I went outside for the first time without a mask. 😊 I heard it’s different in the U.S. and that in some parts of the country you are frowned upon if you’re wearing a mask and everyone else isn’t.
Hello it's my birthday last MAY 5, went out of town travel too to the coolest place in our country here in Philippines (Baguio City), tomorrow is National Election day here, it looks great you not wearing face masks all the time outside, I had fun watching your vlog tonight thank you so much for completing my Sunday night again😊💙
Singapore imposed the optional outdoor mask in April.. but I’m still wearing my mask unless it’s super hot outside. Good that kr has just imposed this rule too☺️ but I think is safer to wear in crowded outdoors areas still for protection
Absolutely gorgeous scenery and the temple was amazing with the lanterns and the statue. Really beautiful! I understand about feeling weird when the outdoor mask mandate was lifted… like you are a rebel not wearing one, even though it’s allowed 😄 thanks for another beautiful video!
Thanks for another beautiful vlog guys~^ ^ I’ve missed visiting temples so much over the past two-three years~ I’m so happy to be returning (actually moving) to Korea in Jan next year~🎉
Its an inch worm. “Inch worm, inch worm, measuring the marigolds, you would think he’d stop to see how beautiful they are...” song from some movie long ago.
We’re currently visiting my parents in Nova Scotia, and there are no mask mandates (I think aside from health care facilities). We still all wear ours in inside places though.
*Reminder* While worry may feel like an effective way to take care of problems that have yet to occur, it actually robs you of peace and happiness in the present.
The mask thing is definitely a culture thing. Totally understand why Korean's still continue to wear masks. Over here, it's like literally the opposite, like 4% of people are wearing masks now lol. We still wear them everywhere to protect our little baby. Wish others around here would still wear them, but again, culture thing. What an awesome lunch break! The creek running must have been so peaceful along with that scenery! Cheonggyesa was really beautiful too! Man, would be nice to be able to go visit something like that around here. Guess we'll have to go back to Korea for that!
Yeah, we’ll definitely continue to wear our masks in busier areas outside. This place was beyond gorgeous-what an experience! Definitely recommend visiting! 😊
Since Mid April where I live you don’t have to wear masks, but people still do indoors and outdoor. Only mandatory in hospitals, clinical labs, and drug stores (pharmacies).
Same goes to Malaysia we start a day earlier from Korea for the no mask outdoor. Everyone is still wearing them here nevertheless even though the mandate has been lifted. I guess it has become like a habit now for majority of us in avoiding the virus for sure.
Yeah, we’ve been hearing that from our Singapore viewers! We’re curious if the outdoor mask wearing in Korea will continue once the summer humidity hits 🥵
Regarding masks I think they aren't a bad thing due to the air pollution. I remember in Canada hearing how the flu rates were so low during the pandemic. I got covid once, but I don't think I got sick aside from that during the pandemic.
wow, very nice place i would like to visit. Drone shoots would be amazing. In Lithuania everywhere except hospitals is just recommendation to wear masks and nobody wears it 😆 i also feel very uncomfortable inside without it and i still wear when there are lots of people in shops and always in public transportation. I went to the mall without mask and i felt to weird and so guilty, like doing bad stuff 😁
the mask mandate has been lifted for over a month now where I live and honestly when you said "I feel like I am doing something wrong" in regards to not wearing masks, I FELT that. I still feel like I am doing something wrong not wearing a mask, maybe it's because I still have to wear one at work? I work with people with disability which is considered a high-risk setting, and when I leave work at the end of the work day and head to the supermarket to pick up groceries for dinner etc I often forget I am wearing my mask still and people give me funny looks. How fast we forget eh?
Here in the U.S. my parents and I carry our masks on us because one never knows what's next with this pandemic. No inconvenience whatsoever. We are fully vaccinated and boosted too. Thank you for this beautiful Spring footage of the Buddhist temple.
Thanks for the beautiful video! At 12:09 I was shocked to see a swastika which is illegal in some countries. I researched it and learned that it's really an ancient and positive religious symbol that was stolen by the Nazis. For other viewers like me who didn't know, here's what I learned: "The swastika symbol, 卐 or 卍, is an ancient religious symbol in various Eurasian cultures, now also widely recognized for its appropriation by the Nazi Party and by neo-Nazis.[1] It continues to be used as a symbol of divinity and spirituality in Indic religions, including Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism.[2][3][4][5][6] It generally takes the form of a cross, the arms of which are of equal length and perpendicular to the adjacent arms, each bent midway at a right angle.[7][8] In the Western world, it was a symbol of auspiciousness and good luck until the 1930s[9] when the German Nazi Party adopted a right-facing ('clockwise') form and used it as an emblem of the Aryan race. As a result of World War II and the Holocaust, in the West it continues to be strongly associated with Nazism, antisemitism,[10][11] white supremacism,[12][13] or simply evil.[14][15] As a consequence, its use in some countries, including Germany, is prohibited by law.[A] However, the swastika remains a symbol of good luck and prosperity in Hindu, Buddhist and Jain countries such as Nepal, India, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, China and Japan. It is also commonly used in Hindu marriage ceremonies and Diwali celebrations." --Wikipedia "
The mask situation is the same down here in Busan - here I was ready to whip my mask off outside on Day 1 and yet 98% of the people around me were still wearing one! One week later and the number of people without a mask is steadily increasing. I'm sure once hot and sweaty summer comes, we will see more faces 😅
What no mask?🤣. I went into the grocery store a few days ago and my face was hot because I was running around. I did not wear my mask going in but I noticed everyone was wearing one so I put mine on. 🤣 Peer pressure.
In Halifax I still wear my mask whenever I go into a store. Strangely what I notice is women mostly wear theirmask and men hardly ever are wearing their mask.
Oh we definitely plan on wearing our masks everywhere indoors as well when we’re in N.S. I think women are maybe more health-conscious? Men are less likely to go to the doctor too 😅
It was so nice to finally be able to take them off and breathe in the scents of the forest 🥺 We do still wear them in the city where it’s busier though, but when there’s hardly anyone near us, we take ‘em off.
No mask mandate in Hawaii except for public schools, medical facilities and certain private businesses. I would say 1/3 of the people still wear masks. It’s good to be able to choose to wear or not to wear. It’s an individual choice and not to judge peoples’ choices.
@pancakestac no we were never taught that the swastika was a Buddhist symbol. That is why I questioned in the comments. The only time I have seen this symbol is in history of the holocaust.
Simply put, it was originally a very old and sacred symbol that Nazi Germany had greatly undermined meaning in the past. It was already a symbolic pattern for Buddhism 2400 years before it was used as a war criminal flag. Now you understand, right?
I wish that Korea would change views on wearing make up, poor girls influenced to wear make up all the time. I wish they could be comfortable not wearing one if they don't want to. 😕

OMG ...that buddha, the lanterns in the wind, the green scenery... so beautiful. WOW! That must have been a really awesome trip. 🤩
It was truly a fantastic trip-way more beautiful than we were expecting! 💚
I love the nature, architecture, and history around the temples and the farther away historical sites. So scenic, I really hope to visit someday 🙏
Korea during Spring time is absolutely stunning. I literally have no words. Just stunning. Wow 😮💨
I love how kyuho is so calm when taking about a bug that's not on him ^^
볼때마다 마음이 편안해지는 영상입니다. 특히 자연풍경을 아름답게 잘 찍으시는것 같아요. 저는 무교이지만 산속에 있는 절을 보면 마음이 편안해집니다. ^
Wow korea is BEAUTIFUL in the spring! Congrats on the mask mandate being lifted outdoors 🥳 sarah, i’m dying at how calm you were when that caterpillar was in your hair 😂

The sound the lanterns made while moving in the wind. Gorgeous.
We didn’t want to cover it up with music 🏮
I love to visit temples, they are so peaceful and calming….
Omg ! The scenery there is absolutely stunning , so lush & green ! The statue lying on it’s side is soooo beautiful !
The statue was so beautiful there, nestled in the mountain 💚
I've had a hella-crappy week and this calming little no-drama roadtrip was just what I (vicariously) needed. Thanks for bringing me along.
Hope your week gets better !
I loved this but I physically still need this 😂
A Buddhist temple I recommend near Seoul is 수종사 in Namyangju, Gyeonggi. It's at the top of a mountain and you can look over this gorgeous river. Great on a sunny day, but if you go when it's cloudy, it's also so cool because you can see all the mist and clouds going by.

So lovely!🥰 I very much appreciate your Buddha’s birthday posts every year, since I can’t come see the lanterns myself. ❤️
It’s our favorite time of year here seeing all those lanterns strung up ☺️
Such a beautiful place!

Thank you so much for watching ☺️
Ohh, that’s so exciting that you’re moving to Korea!! 🇰🇷👏
it's a beautiful mountain scenery, no more mask mandate yahhhh , be stay safe !!!!!
Does anyone have a location link or can give more information on name and location of reclining stone Buddha in this video? Thank you.
Hi Lori :) If you Google the Temple’s name ‘Cheonggyesa’, you can find a map of the location 📍
Its an inch worm. “Inch worm, inch worm, measuring the marigolds, you would think he’d stop to see how beautiful they are...” song from some movie long ago.
I’ve never heard of that-cute! 🐛
At the first minute of the clip, I am so fixated at the worm crawling up on Sarah's hair and I forgot her speech...
I aspire to have this type of partnership in my relationship. It’s so peaceful
Where I am in Canada we don’t have to wear masks anymore. I wear them everywhere. It makes me feel better.
Yes! I think it’s definitely just become a habit here as well-everyone just wants to be able to protect themselves.

In the UK, we haven’t had to wear a mask on outside for ages, still distant outside and if it’s very crowded in side we/well I but my mask on,
We dropped out outdoor mask mandate in Singapore some time ago too. Most people still wear masks too haha
How do visitors get to this temple if want to visit it…
Out of curiosity, what's the price of gas these days in Korea (in $/L)?
I would freak if I had a caterpillar in my hair 😆
wow, very nice place i would like to visit.
We wish we could get drone shots! Drone laws in Korea are soooo strict, so we don’t bother to get one-just not worth it 🥲
the mask mandate has been lifted for over a month now where I live and honestly when you said "I feel like I am doing something wrong" in regards to not wearing masks, I FELT that.
We always have a mask on us as well, even if we know we’re just going to be outside :)
Thanks so much for watching!
@@2hearts1seoul Yes, thank you for your Vlog- it's always calming, unique, and interesting. Best Wishes to you both, your families, and Beemo!
Same thing in Singapore - majority are still keeping their masks on even though there's no need to outdoors!
Oh wow, it must be so hot 🥵
@@2hearts1seoul super 🥲🥲🥲
Thanks for the beautiful video! At 12:09 I was shocked to see a swastika which is illegal in some countries. I researched it and learned that it's really an ancient and positive religious symbol that was stolen by the Nazis. For other viewers like me who didn't know, here's what I learned:
"The swastika symbol, 卐 or 卍, is an ancient religious symbol in various Eurasian cultures, now also widely recognized for its appropriation by the Nazi Party and by neo-Nazis.[1] It continues to be used as a symbol of divinity and spirituality in Indic religions, including Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism.[2][3][4][5][6] It generally takes the form of a cross, the arms of which are of equal length and perpendicular to the adjacent arms, each bent midway at a right angle.[7][8]
In the Western world, it was a symbol of auspiciousness and good luck until the 1930s[9] when the German Nazi Party adopted a right-facing ('clockwise') form and used it as an emblem of the Aryan race. It is also commonly used in Hindu marriage ceremonies and Diwali celebrations."

Shocked me as well.
Ewww, ok. I see lol
I tried to order the shampoo but I don't like that it's not a one time purchase. I prefer to order when I am ready.
YUP, I think once the humidity hits, it’ll really start to change 😅
4:44 I can't help but notice an insect on Kyuho's hair
嗨
What no mask?🤣. I went into the grocery store a few days ago and my face was hot because I was running around. I did not wear my mask going in but I noticed everyone was wearing one so I put mine on. 🤣 Peer pressure.
You have to wear masks indoors here still! Just outside there’s no longer a mandate, but VERY few people are not wearing masks 😅
2:03 there is like a worm in her ear? or is just me seeing? haha
It’s a little inch worm 🐛💕
@@2hearts1seoul haha yes! I saw you show it later on the video! so cute :)
Men are less likely to go to the doctor too 😅
So glad that you don't have to wear your masks we still wear ours but like you said it our choose
Guy, are you thinking about filmming in 4k?????
Nope, too large of a file size!
Question: at 12:11 there are lanterns above you. Is that a red swastika pattern they did??
www.bbc.com/culture/article/20210816-the-ancient-symbol-that-was-hijacked-by-evil
the swastika is a buddhist symbol actually. if you look up the history of it it’s a very interesting story!
@@2hearts1seoul thank you for linking the article. This definitely explains everything.
Fine dust still around
No, it’s the yellow pollen from pine trees 🤧
In the past 2 weeks, the concentration of Chinese fine dust in Seoul has never been bad.
96%??? lol
Yup~
I wish that Korea would change views on wearing make up, poor girls influenced to wear make up all the time. I wish they could be comfortable not wearing one if they don't want to. 😕
