I really want to see how the R5 performs in terms of color rendition straight out of the camera compared to the EOS R. Another RUclips said the color was better on the R5, but didn't go into too much depth.
Please test the Bluetooth/Wifi connection with the software. All these years have past by and their app still randomly drops connections and can never find the connection when you wish to. Another thing to test is the Frames per sec. Test it with a flash on it. The R5 lied in their specs about it shooting 6 frames or whatever it was. I spent hours on the phone with tech support and they didn't even know that it only shot 3 frames.
Testing I’d love to see ... a) the record times Canon listed on their press updates for ideal 73F conditions but at 83F-93F+ outdoor conditions. B) how long does it take to overheat filming < 30s @ 4K 60. C) same for 4K 120 for < 15s clips. D) potential reduction of overheating using a dummy battery to external battery. E) potential reduction of overheating when recording ONLY externally say Ninja V @ 4K 24 and 60. Thank you!
Awesome Jared. Are you going to do a sports shoot as part of your real world reviews? Be great to test the AF and also multi burst through viewfinder, as well as those long range F11 lenses. When it comes to shooting action is the R6 actually a better option?
Hey Jared! Great videos as always. I would love to see a High ISO low light comparison between the two and how the noise compares. Considering the R6 has a much bigger pixel size it should be better in low light then the R5 but real world reviews beat specs all day. As a night time cityscape/ astrophotographer, id love to see it and how it preforms 6400iso and up. Thank you.

Sucks that there are no concerts, but I'm sure you'll find ways to get action shots in low light situations and demonstrate the new in-body image stabilization as well as how it works with the RF glass that already dropped.

Actually, in this age of shrinking resources and dwindling market for expensive cameras it would be better if these Japanese camera companies worked together rather than fighting half-heartedly*! Imagine if there was one mirrorless mount that enabled users to choose and use lenses from any manufacturer? Imagine an MILC with Canon ergo and Sony sensor + AF! The "L-MOUNT ALLIANCE" is a beginning but they should expand that thought to include the other major players (Sony, Canon, Nikon)! [*I say half-heartedly because they never actually go for the jugular! They always hold something back so the other companies can remain in the game! It's a Japanese thing!]
The on/off sign is at the ckrrect side. Shutter button side should hold buttons that would be used when eye is on finder, leaving left hand free to carry the weight and no accidental switching the camera off.
Obviously overheating tests in different modes, and then if you can record in non-hq 4k straight after overheating? Also, if you have an external recorder, it would be great to see if this mitigates overheating when only recording to the recorder and not internally. Either way, might have to get the R6 now seeing as it outperformed in the wind tunnel.
I'm really curious how the R6 performs as a sports camera. Please test the fps and how well it sticks to moving subjects and how good the hit rate is. Also curious about how good the eye af for portraits and continuous video focus is.

Jared, You totally missed an opportunity just before you tossed the user manual. Paper made in little rectangles roughly the same size at that manual have been in short supply lately.
Considering price and stills capabilities since I do not or just extremely rarely do video, the Sony A7iii will stay with me and would be my choice again over the R6 - mainly because of battery life and price. Everything else seems really polished from Canons side, even exceeding Sony (Touchscreen *cough*) and definitely presses the right buttons to make me excited for getting this in my hands anyway and the inventions of the foreseeable future. Canon really did deliver, but just because there's something new 'old' stuff isn't of worse quality now. So if you can get a A7iii for a good price and are a mostly stills shooter, you won't miss out compared to the R6. The R5 is another story and just matched by the A7r series right now in case of AF and resolution. And the Z6, X-T4 and S1 (and even the Eos R no number) are still great cameras for a very compelling price if you don't want Sony or have money for the new Canon. It's not about brand loyalty in the end, but finding the right tool for you - and maybe one that's financially responsible and won't make you sell all brands gear in a few years because there's no adapters that time.
The EVF for action and fast moving subjects! I'm on a list for an R5 but how is it going to do for airshows with an EVF, or the pinnacle of photography....birds in flight. And with the EVF, does EF versus RF glass make a difference? Also the AF system, how does the tracking really work for animal eye detection. And how well does the AF system work with EF glass? Last thing, IBIS with EF lenses. Canon states that EF lenses will still take advantage of IBIS, but by how much? Looking forward to some reviews!

Please do some testing where you’re filming video and pulling stills in the manor they advertised in the announcement and let us know if you can see yourself switching to using video and pulling stills later
As a still shooter, I am trying to decide if I should get the R6, R5 or just stick with the R. I've been using that for the last year and I like it but have been constantly nervous about not having redundant recording. (Yes I have had a card fail on a job before) I want the dual cards, but should I worry about the step down in MP from the R to the R6, or is that really not a concern? I think the R5 would be great but I don't do video at all. What are your thoughts? Jared, can you do a video weighing these pros and cons and maybe some viewpoints?
Thanks for the video - can you expand on your thoughts on dual video recording as I was pretty sure that wasn’t actually possible on either the r5 or R6? Thanks!
The cameras seems great.. but those f11 lenses just seem like a strange choice for canon to make. That aperture just doesn’t make much sense to me for a telephoto like that. Part of the reason why I chose canon years ago was because I could get into a decent camera and cheaper f5.6 telephoto primes for a really good price. I don’t know just seems strange that they would go this f11 direction. Hopefully they put out some long f5.6 and f4.0 RF lenses soon. Canon can be frustrating at times that’s for sure. But I guess I’m still curious to see what the lenses can do so good luck on the testing.
Now get your Sony A7R and give us side-by-side comparison stills. You show us and you tell us which you think is sharper. Which sensor is better. Thanks.
I want the r6, what kit lense should I get? Going to be filming outdoor kayak video walkthrus and indoor boat conventions ( if that ever comes back lol) I'm not a film expert nor will I ever be, just want the best picture the easiest way to get it
Please test the dynamic range on both cameras. Might be hard to do since c-log 3 won’t be added until a later firmware update. An in-depth segment on overall low-light performance would still be greatly appreciated 🤙🏽

Hi Jared poplin
Where did you get this canon eos r5 and canon eos r6
Did you buy it or the canon let you borrow
Now get your Sony A7R and give us side-by-side comparison stills. You show us and you tell us which you think is sharper. Which sensor is better. Thanks.
2:05 no need for kindling, your camera will burst info flames filming most things so Canon has you covered there.
Take that Tony Northrop haha! Nice job Jared, I’m look forward to the real world reviews.
Do NOT FINGER Lmaoooo !! Btw are these actually real production not pre production ? I think this is the first one I’ve seen can’t wait !
Hey there, Jared, how good is the new 45mp sensor? How wide is the dynamic range? How are the skin tones? I’d love to get your feedback. Thanks!
