Will a multimeter set off an airbag? LETS FIND OUT! DO NOT TRY THIS!

Welcome to ‪@AutoScholarwithMrB‬! Today we are testing out this airbag to see if I can detonate it with a multimeter. In almost every airbag safety warning tip I have ever seen, it states not to use a multimeter or other measurement device on airbag circuitry. This warning is very important because there is a chance the tool can detonate the airbag. In this video we give it a shot!
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DO THIS EXPERIMENT! AIRBAGS ARE DANGEROUS AND CAN CAUSE INJURY! THIS IS A CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT!

Even being far away, a piece of the airbag does strike me in the neck when detonated. This is the first time that has happened and I have probably popped well over 100 of these. I place the airbag face down to show the power that the airbag has. It helps my students respect them as they start their jobs in the field.
