They developed new weapons, change in laws of government and ideology and the knights didn't like the change so the leader of the knights stages a rebellion against the kingdom and it's changed and the nights during the rebellion are swiftly defeated and outlawed for there betrayal. Hence why the main villain has a grudge against the kingdom because his father faught in that rebellion as there leader
Agree. In history firearms became a new form of protection making knights obsolete. I think the film would have been better if firearms were the reason why knights were outlawed or just not needed anymore. This would create a guns kill message while at the same time say that violence with swords is bad. Also, I think Justin should have grown as a character becoming a true knight which includes performing chivalrous acts, fighting monsters, and saving people instead of stupid exposition and his training. Lastly, Sir Clorex should have been the main villain as a knight in shining armor that Justin reads about and wants to be like him only to figure out that he’s bad. This would work as Justin realizing that not every knight is good, it would emphasize the idea “Don’t always trust a knight in shining armor because some are men who has never had their armor truly tested.” Justin learns that being a knight isn’t about wearing shining armor nor winning a princess’s heart, it about doing what’s right to protect others. I don’t like Justin’s appearance because he looks too similar Hiccup and Linguini, I think Justin should have looked handsome but still be young because his big nosed wimpy appearance, personality, and lack of character growth makes it hard to believe he would become a knight nor a hero. I think he should have grown as a character who starts off as an unskilled inexperienced young boy who dreams of winning the heart of a princess to a full grown brave might armored knight performing epic heroic acts while learning what being a knight really means. His character should have a had flaws, growth, and change from a silly fool to a serious warrior. This would be like Berserk but for kids. Just my opinion.
He looks like a poor man’s Big Lipped Alligator from All Dogs Go to Heaven 1 (but wait until the future when I make a Pac-Man movie that has all the characters in their Pac-Man World 2 designs (including Orson with the voice and design he had in PMW3)! @@dante_0962it’s like Kiara the Brave, where, despite riding the coattails of Brave, is NOT focused on the princess. But rather some superhuman named Supercloud or something.
You know the story has potential. What if instead of knights becoming illegal just because, maybe it was coup against the queen. A band of knights was paid off to turn on the queen, and Heraculio and Justin's grandfather managed to fight them off, but it cost the latter his life. The queen was scarred from the experience because she had always believed in chivalry and what being a knight was supposed to represent, and to have her own men turn on her for money and power left her disillusioned and disheartened by the whole concept to the point she outlawed knighthood itself. Heraculio sees the injustice in this, especially when he and his friend were faithful to their vows and protect her. He refuses to lay down his sword and goes into hiding. Years later, Justin has been secretly reading stories about famous heroes and knights, including his grandfather, who had been renowned for his chivalry and kindness, which slowly gives Justin the desire to become a knight himself. However, he knows he must keep this hidden from everyone and especially his father, who has hated knighthood ever since those false knights took his father away. The only one who knows about his desire is his grandmother, who, understanding the trauma done against the queen and grieving from the loss of her husband, thinks the law goes too far banning all knights and secretly encourages Justin to pursue his dreams. Eventually, he trains to become a knight while being confronted with the reality that knights are people too, and they have their own faults and vices, even his grandfather and that being a knight won't be as simple as saving princesses and being nice. This reality is shown off in the form of Heraculio, who has become the very knight he once helped defeat and once to overthrow the queen, even if it cost the people everything. In the end, Justin vows to be as good of knight he can be and the queen lifts the ban after realizing she's been unjust due to the trauma she suffered.

Man, this thing sucked. I remember a channel talking about stakes being important in a story. If the whole “knights are outlawed” is a “stake”, then that Clorox character shouldn’t be included, so the possibility of Justin dying would be greater. And yeah, Dale reminds me of the 2 villains from 100% Wolf that Bobsheaux reviewed, 2 relatable villains who you feel sorry for and make me actively hate the “heroes”.

Saw the film years later and it was.. fine. Showing rather than telling is something a lot of film schools NEED to do a better job of teaching their students. (That and being willing to speak up during the storyboard phase). They should be able to draw a singular picture with zero words at all, and be able to tell a whole story with it. I just don't really understand how so many films miss that mark! Since I can't attach images or links without RUclips getting salty, I'mma describe an image without outright saying, or implying anything, and see if I can accomplish that goal. A small, canvas wing biplane rests in a grassy field. There are matted lines of grass behind the tires, slowly becoming more compressed the closer to the middle of each line you go. There are two small burn patches in the grass as well, below the exhausts. The propeller is a blur, with the yellow tips showing up as a concentric circle. Nobody is currently in the plane. A man dressed in a WWI pilot's uniform is on his knees beside the machine, with his head in his hands, facing away from the viewer. A second biplane of similar pattern is about 400 feet in front of the first one I described, completely crumpled over. It's riddled with holes, and a small patch of poppy flowers lies just in front of where the nose is dug into the floor. As the great Gordon Ramsay once put it, "What's so f***ing complicated about this!?"
I remember Defenders of Berk, especially when before being replaced with another program on a channel I used to go just to watch it, it "ended" in a cliffhanger on the episode (The eel effect).

You know what's weird? According to IMDB, one of the animators from "Justin and the Knights of Valour", María Montes, was also an animator for "Nimona". And both movies have knights, just with different settings. Do I smell a potential crossover happening?
You know, I never put thought into this- but this is why I watch most anime GOOD PLOT. relatable villains, like idc that I'm watching cartoons FoR BaBiEs anime is usually very well made and thought out. But most animated movies don't put in as much effort and villains usually have a really bad motive.
i love villain's more than heroes in anime's, but its hard to find villain mc i want some more mc like light yagami, i like shiragaki morr from My hero academia than deku tbh
I have saying. “A knock off is something that take an already existing title and try’s to change up the formula. While rip off just take the idea and dose not hid it ripping the same idea off.” That what I think knock offs are different from rip offs.
I remember watching this film as a kid and absolutely adored it, Httyd was my all time favourite thing back then and it still is now, yet i never connected the two together. I think because it was so alike to httyd is the reason i liked it, i havent watched it since i was around 7 so ill have to go watch it again.
Honestly I don't think it was httyd rip off their similarities are just common storytelling things ... httyd is a much better movie but I still like Justin and the knights of valour it has good animation and the characters and lore are honestly likable enough to keep you entertained. Don't understand why you are comparing them. It's a fine movie and has that not a major studio charm.
I love your funny vids ripping bad movies. The HHTYD trilogy and the Riders/Defenders Of Berk and Race To The Edge were the Beatles of Animation, Nine Relms is the solo Beatles of Animation and this is the bad American Idol audition covers of The Beatles' songs.
About halfway or so in (the point about Dale being right) and have to say that this story really had potential and sadly it was never expanded upon. But no fear as I create a short summary for those wanting to read and give a plot to better fix this!! But I’m going to be using three key points Sir RaisorBlade, knight of reviews made. Well more like points I find interesting enough to be fixed up since I honestly see this movie working Point 1: the apparently large number of laws that really shouldn’t be present in a film! I agree with RB on the point that it would have been interesting to have Justin make a jab at his father’s insane number of laws that ended up having his own father killed since that is perfect story writing and from there we can build up a subplot where the two just don’t even talk to each other after Justin leaves as we could instead have focus on the father even more as he tries to see where he went wrong only to figure out that he is being too protective and that these laws he made are only causing more pain than peace. Oh yeah I think the Queen in this idea should be a bit stubborn on the changing the law thing. The number of laws in this film is insane and I do think they should have put a heavy focus on that since it connects with the knights being outlawed as we could also explore an idea where some of the knights who became outlawed actually split up when Dale destroyed the grandfather shortly after the laws were made and we might have them appear during small parts until Justin who realises that the knights were okay and are kind of needed tries to reunite them. Though that is sequel material and we aren’t talking about a sequel today Point 2: Character development isn’t here?! How can a romance story happen without development?!!! This part is brief as the most important thing this film needs is character development! Especially for a romance plot and/or subplot!!! As a guy who loves stories and makes his own I really do believe that character development is one of the most important things for a story to be excellent. Even if the movie plot is bad as long as character development is achieved then it may save the bad plot. Anyway the focus should be on the relationship with Justin, non-Astrid whose name I forgot and the other people of that castle since it would be amazing if they all had something in common. Heck we might as well throw in the classic sparring match with the love interest Point 3: make a better ending that makes sense to plot. And thoughts so far while adding more development for Dale I know I’m rambling on and probably to the point where I’m pretty much reinventing the film, but I really do think these changes may make it better or even more original than who it’s trying to imitate at most. It doesn’t seem that bad when you look at it in the perspective of what it could have been, but while watching the video more I can see that the film had so much potential. Even Dale has so much potential for a villain as it would be more powerful if the finale had Dale and Justin fight with personal beliefs being put to the test as we could have Dale go so far into his goal that he loses the sense of right and wrong, only believing that becoming king himself can make a world free of law as that is what causes the kingdom to go on its bad path in the first place. However Justin could believe that the law could help keep peace and that the knights are meant to help maintain it, not corrupt it. With these points I think it could change the film and make it better. Oh and have non-Gaston become a knight since Wynaut? And as RB said make him do something useful that can move the plot somewhere! Actually focus on character development and plot to make it better Alright this is long, but I can see the amount of ways to fix this film, but most likely will never happen. This was an Edoko essay and I hope this could help anyone in making a story or something special. If anyone actually read this whole thing
Its sad honsetly, this movie looks like it had a ton of potential, if done by the right people. Sure its a HTTYD knockoff, but like barely anywhere in this video is the dragon talked about, so remove that, and its not much of a knockoff anymore. With all the points you made, I'm kinda sad that all the interesting turns and events this movie could have taken were just abandoned for some idiotic stock movie.
If people want a prime example (no pun intended) of show don't tell, they should seriously go watch Genndy Tartakovsky's Primal. There is a character who speaks in the last...two episodes of season one? And the main character says nothing until the last 5 minutes of the first season. And yet, it's an amazing show
To be fair, the movie was already being planned before Antonio Banderas got involved. Remember Replicas? That mediocre movie with horrible VFX starring Keanu Reeves? When everybody asked him what was he doing in such a film, he said the director was his friend and he did as a favour. I think something similar happened here. Someone from the studio must have known Banderas and convinced him to produce the movie, and of course, being Antonio Banderas the producer, they put his name everywhere.
Generic hero, somewhat meaningful but generic villain, a THICC bitch and useless side characters. I have never seen the movie but that's the gist of what I got from this video. I found your channel yesterday (23/04/2022) and this is some good shit, quality entertainment. Edit: This ain't it chief.

But most animated movies don't put in as much effort and villains usually have a really bad motive.
i love villain's more than heroes in anime's, but its hard to find villain mc i want some more mc like light yagami,
i like shiragaki morr from My hero academia than deku tbh

If you want an actual HTTYD rip-off then look no further than Dragon Rider which is a Sky Original movie 👏WITH 👏ACTUAL 👏DRAGONS.
I think he should review it.
I have saying.
“A knock off is something that take an already existing title and try’s to change up the formula.
While rip off just take the idea and dose not hid it ripping the same idea off.”
That what I think knock offs are different from rip offs.
I remember watching this film as a kid and absolutely adored it, Httyd was my all time favourite thing back then and it still is now, yet i never connected the two together. I think because it was so alike to httyd is the reason i liked it, i havent watched it since i was around 7 so ill have to go watch it again.
It was released in Czech Republic too. Don’t ask how I know.
Justin’s dad was also the voice of Viggo grim born a villain in the httyd series
I love how you explain it well but also bring humour :]
Whole reason I subbed xD
idk man these videos are good cant believe i havent found you till now
Do they call an alligator with mechanical wings a dragon cause it is absolutely NOT
Honestly I don't think it was httyd rip off their similarities are just common storytelling things ... httyd is a much better movie but I still like Justin and the knights of valour it has good animation and the characters and lore are honestly likable enough to keep you entertained. Don't understand why you are comparing them. It's a fine movie and has that not a major studio charm.
Honestly, I really cringed when he said that having a skinny guy becoming a hero makes it a ripoff. Dude, do you know about such thing as monomyth?
I can't believe the father is voiced by Vigo from httyd race to the edge
Your explaination of why Dale is justified make me realise that twist heroes would be so fun to write and should be more popular.
Honestly I forgot the dragon was there until you said something and I looked at the comments
Goodness, there's a lot of big names in this movie from Alfred Molina to Charles Dance.
Ooh, this is gonna be good!!!!!!
A name like "Heraclio" has to be made up.
That's the name of my street 👁️💧👄👁️

I would love to see you tear apart Trolland. It has some of the worst animation ever!
Wow, I was the 1.7k like. Enjoyed the vid (especially the humour), keep up the great workman :)
And yes Ik I’m a month late
I never noticed that this was similar to HttyD. Hmmm.
I’m sorry but 16:04 is just Tom Holland vs. pimped out Santa
Well more like points I find interesting enough to be fixed up since I honestly see this movie working
Point 1: the apparently large number of laws that really shouldn’t be present in a film!
Though that is sequel material and we aren’t talking about a sequel today
Point 2: Character development isn’t here?!
Heck we might as well throw in the classic sparring match with the love interest
Point 3: make a better ending that makes sense to plot. And thoughts so far while adding more development for Dale
I know I’m rambling on and probably to the point where I’m pretty much reinventing the film, but I really do think these changes may make it better or even more original than who it’s trying to imitate at most. Actually focus on character development and plot to make it better
Alright this is long, but I can see the amount of ways to fix this film, but most likely will never happen. This was an Edoko essay and I hope this could help anyone in making a story or something special. If anyone actually read this whole thing
Calling him Alvin would have been an insult to the HTTYD book series.
I actually watched when it was on Netflix and really injoyed it when I was a young teen
And yet, it's an amazing show
Could you make a video like this one about the movie Redshoes and the seven dwarfs?
Glory to ukraine glory to the heros🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
To be fair, the movie was already being planned before Antonio Banderas got involved. Remember Replicas? That mediocre movie with horrible VFX starring Keanu Reeves? When everybody asked him what was he doing in such a film, he said the director was his friend and he did as a favour. I think something similar happened here. Someone from the studio must have known Banderas and convinced him to produce the movie, and of course, being Antonio Banderas the producer, they put his name everywhere.
There's also a German HTTYD rip off called 'Drachenreiter'
Dragon Rider is the translation of the name, for anyone wondering
i remember watching this movie as a kid and i really enjoyed it
It's hard to listen to this with headphones on... I'm deaf now, lol.
you didnt notice how the grandma was waaaaay thicker?
Generic hero, somewhat meaningful but generic villain, a THICC bitch and useless side characters.
I have never seen the movie but that's the gist of what I got from this video.
I found your channel yesterday (23/04/2022) and this is some good shit, quality entertainment.

i actually got a dvd in italian of that shit, i remember the weird wizard hooking him p litterally with the spit or somthing like that
I watched this movie on live TV on the movie channel but I never thought it was related at all to httyd
