- We are sisters, Julia and Anastasia - caring for a regenerative farm on Bundjalung Country on the East Coast of Australia. We have a dream to build a self sustainable future and regenerate the land for generations to come. Join us as we learn to build, farm, garden, and care for the animals and land regeneratively.
We live and farm on the land of the Arakwal and Midjungbal People of Bundjalung and these practices of regenerative agriculture and permaculture owe their roots and theories to Indigenous knowledge - they have been practiced by Indigenous People around the world for so many years.
Here we will share a weekly diary of our trials and joys as we learn to be gardeners, builders, farmers and carers for the land and animals.

As a single father of three, I would give anything to get me and my kids away from the city, and into the mountains. We were never meant to live in cities.
Jesus is the great shepherd, trust in him and he will guide your paths, get to know him kn a personal level and you will see that you will love him

I grew up in the city and used to think I was a city person... that was until I moved back and realized city life wasn't for me. I now live with my parents on their 120 acres land with tons of animals, plants, and away from people. It has been very hard since the last passing winter froze our last water and heat supply... but these are things we gotta be prepared for. I do notice the kids are happier just exploring outdoors and doing things with their hands versus being on their iPad all day.
I'd say go for it. Make sure you do lots of research before making the move. Also depending on where you live, protection is a must. We often get coyotes/predators or wandering strangers that stumble onto our land. Wish you the best.
I’m also a single father, of two beautiful kids. I want to live this way. I keep the dream alive. Stay strong and be a good father. Keep pushing toward that goal.

I already sold all my possessions to become a travel nurse. Next step is a self sustaining camper trailer with solar panels

If you could find one a class a might be a good option for you. Having the generator and all the space for batteries is really helpful. I switched from a class a to a travel trailer and with out all the underneath storage I find it to be quite a struggle to store things and it is the one thing preventing me from trying to convert my trailer to solar or installing a generator. Class A's can definetly have their own problems but its really up to you I just see it from a boon docking perspective or wanting to be self sufficient. The class a is awesome cuz alls you have to do is turn it on, you have ac. They come with a generator and tons of storage. Usually large fridges and water tanks. Ultimately it's up to you I was just trying to offer my advice as a person who's had both and what I would like if I could have it. Obviously class A's can be expensive from a dealer or hard to find for cheap but if you do find one it could be awesome. Whatever you decide to get I wish you the best of luck and if you're looking for cheap parks I'd check out this site called thousand trails.

I don't want to live like this anymore. I don't want to spend my life dealing with toxic people, constantly getting sick in a concrete forest and trying to find a meaning for my life where everyone thinks having money is the meaning of life. I want to live like them. I want to touch soil with my bare feet. I don't have money to buy land. I don't have money to get any of these. These are luxuries. I know if I try to build sth myself the gov will come and destroy it saying I don't own that land. I am in a paradox. I want to live like this but to live like this I have to earn money. Life sucks.

Many people are going off grid or are planning it. Due to the pandemic, due to the world is just insanely fast and crowded. I would love to go off grid as well. I know it’s not going to be easy but this story is inspiring. The duck with the flower hat stole my hearth, omg it made me cry because of the innocence, the sweetness, pure gold. This little animal. The bond you have with these animals, it’s very special.

Basically impossible to start from zero in this banker/money driven society. Hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not millions, to get a reasonable sized chunk of land.
@@muddymike Agreed. I did purchase a few acres of agricultural land, and I'm still a wage slave in trying to get it paid off. Our entire system is rotten and unsustainable, socially, economically and environmentally. The entire paradigm is so flawed that I can't imagine how it will ever be changed, beginning with the flawed belief that anyone can really own land. It doesn't belong to anyone, and certainly not to the people who have most of the money in this "banker/money - driven society. The structure is going to collapse. Hopefully something humane and sustainable will rise out of the ashes.

@@tomstclair961 it's quite possible for anyone to live this sort of life quit your job and volunteer on an organic farm who's values you align with there are hundreds of thousands of them allover the world. I did this my self went to say for a month ended up staying five years.

I think you're in india and I think here there's so many places to live closer to nature and be self sufficient especially the tropical weather ideal for growing food 🌿🌼
My grandparents, Sam & Lily, lived like this in the Appalachian Mts of GA & NC, USA their whole lives in the 20th century.. They bought only coffee at one point, and raised their animals and gardens for food.. Always canning veggies and processing a cow, chicken or pig for meat.. They were still using their natural springs for water into the 1970’s..
