Awesome! I think I just might do this... I have one harness off of al*express for myself and copied it for my eldest kiddo, but it took me about 9m of straps (and I *did* sew them like you were considering because the back of my leather fabric was less pretty)... My younger ones also want a cosplay now and yours seems perfect!
