  • Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. But what if it didn't? What if it only showed the true character of the person who held it and what if that person at their core was only interested in the good of the nation and the growth of its people?
Enter Julius Kabarage Nyerere, the first president of the People's Republic of Tanganyika. Albeit firm and strong-minded, he came his vision was for a united Tanganyika and a need for social accountability.

Thank you Effie this was a beautiful compilation of Nyerere 😊
Nyerere a teacher and great, bold strategic, peaceful leader - A Pan-Africanist! 👏
    Highly recommend the book Ujamaa✅
Socialism has it’s pros thank you for highlighting them like all other political and economic theories there’s need to blend with the others.
Amin was wrecking havoc in Uganda 🇺🇬 even though it looks like the country moved from fire to fire🙈
Nyerere needed to do this it paved the way for East Africa to embrace helping each other in times like this
    On Oct 14th 1999 a good man rested💔
History is such a beautiful subject to explore - restrained myself from continuing to type😂😂
Also typing this pending the upcoming Saba Saba😂 😂7/7/23 looking forward to a peaceful demo😊
    Enjoyed this episode😊

What Nyerere was able to achieve through Ujamaa was a united and cohesive nation devoid of tribalism. Unlike her neighbors.
My biggest heartbreak with Nyerere was his split with Oscar Kambona.

He didn't go for the problem, and we did not aid rabbels we fought for the country and part of the land which was taken by Amin...sababu za kumpiga ni ardhi yetu na nia ya kumpiga tulikuwa nayo na uwezo wa kumpiga tulikuwa nao.
