Ciao Vincie, wow, you can't imagine what joy brings me reading something like this... Stunning town indeed... can't imagine you were born there! Where are you living now? A big salute from a small town near Rome where I'm from
My parents were born in Roccasecca and I have visited many times. One of my favorite places on earth (at 2:00 I can see my grandparents' home in valley). You can see St. Thomas's family castle ruins (atop Mt. Asprano) from virtually everywhere in Roccasecca. Thank you for this beautiful video! Another gem in Roccasecca is the breathtaking walk up to the ancient hermitage of Spirito Santo.
Hi Carlo, it's always nice to read messages from people who actually also visited the towns I try to show, as most of them aren't so well known to tourists, especially foreign ones. It's indeed a very pretty town , I liked it a lot, it was like going back in time while there. Walking and watching where St.Thomas actually lived was quite something.. thanks to you for commenting and didn't know about the hermitage of Spirito Santo unfortunately, but thanks for the tip! From time to time I go back (not filming) so always appreciated. Wish you a nice Sunday
@@StillWanderer You are welcome! The Liri Valley from Roccasecca to Cassino is gorgeous. I would encourage everyone to drive from Roccasecca to the very top of Monte Cassino (the historic Benedectine abbey destroyed in WWII, now beautifully restored). 25 minutes by car, Roccasecca to Cassino.
Each time you post another walk through a perfectly unspoiled medieval Italian town, I think to myself, "Well he can't top this!" And then I see this beautiful look at Roccasecca, perhaps the hilltop town to literally top all others. To wander those ruins all the way to the top, beginning at the church would be amazing.
