Dude, that was a fucking great review. You absolutely nailed it with specificity, history, technical details, and a super well explained overview of it all. I have been looking at these as the next upgrade and was considering doing a review of them so this helps a ton. I was looking at WIT to purchase them but where have you found you can access all the colors? WIT only has a couple of the louder colors available.

Great review wes! Just two things. First:The hyperlift is technically just a print on at the 7s. TheRe even lower than the 6s with the insert. Sadly.
Second: react insole was not made for basketball, but for running. The energy return point is still right tho:) keep on making ur great reviews bro
Thanks for the feedback. Your first part is correct. I believe I stated this in the video, or perhaps it's not apparent what I'm trying to say.
As for the react foam, this is direct from Nike: "Nike React foam cushioning launched in June 2017 in basketball - a sport that requires players to shift direction and speed in seamless motion and to lift off at the blink of an eye. The foam met those needs by providing a sensation that is as soft and springy as it is squishy and stable - a balance not previously seen in any other Nike basketball shoe." React foam was utilized a year later in certain Nike running shoes.

Totally different use cases. METCONS are an all around shoe, whereas Romaleos are for some power movements and Olympic lifting

M really confused between metcon 7 and 8..
I need it for normal gym use. Like shoulder, arms, legs, back, etc workout. Info. To the gym daily but not into HIIT or cross fit.. Which would you recommend? I am A super rough user..
The wider heel is too much for me to fit into the concept2 rowers foot-plate 😞
is it confy for daily uses , like walking ?
What’s the traction like for sprints on grass or for steps/stairs? Also Would you know sizing compared to no bull, goruck and nano x (got all those 😬) ?
Steps/Stairs, they're absolutely fine. I've done far too many box step-ups in these for my likeing, and the traction is great. As far as grass, they're no different than any other athletic shoe. Just depends what you're looking for. I've ran hills on grass in them, and didn't feel any noticeable slippage, but also don't feel the grab like I would with turf shoes or spikes, obviously.
does the higher heel stack height bother you?
I like my shoes on the lower side. I feel the added height would become a nuisance on more spirited movements, e.g., lateral jumps
Not for me, but then again I didn't really mind the 6s with the hyperlift inserted. I will say, like I say in the video, the balance in the 7 feels much better so it's not something I notice. Feels much more prominent in the 6s. I did lateral bar over burpees today in the 7s and they felt great.

I size up 0.5 for the width of my foot. Haven't had any sliding around issues.

Hello, good review, I have a question today, how are the metcon 7 going? Are they durable? I'm a little intrigued by the tip because I read that it was thin and could break
I've beaten the hell out of mine, and so have many other people I've seen. I will say that just this past weekend, one of my best friend's showed me that he tore the upper on the toe box. He has no idea how it happened, so it is possible. First I've seen of it, but my personal shoes are holding up just fine.
Would you recommend these for someone who opts for rower version of all running wods? I hate running so I always do the rower version.

Metcon 7, no question. I have a video on the X1. Not a fan of that shoe, in any way.

I've seen studies that are both good and bad. Good: You utilize muscles that are otherwise handicapped by the thickness and structure of modern running shoes. Bad: Our bodies are no longer strong enough from a skeletal musculature standpoint to withstand the abuse of barefoot running.
I just don't know. I do perform barefoot movements of all exercises though when I can. You can just feel different muscle use in the feet.
on metcon 7 the hyperlift doesnt exist, it is written on the heel but if you measure it it aint there :/
I have the 6 and i bought the 7, big difference, feel more natural doesnt squick and looking very coool

Wouldn't recommend this for daily wear. It's specific as a training shoe.

It's not just the heel that's narrow it's the whole shoe! Made for women it is
Man, what size foot do you have? I have a 4E width, and the 6s were a tad narrow, but not as bad as I think you're portraying.

I Have the 6 and I was a fan ... The 7 is very comfy and that's all that is better compare to the 6 .
upper mesh is WAY less breathable and feels cheap .
The velcro is ridiculous and damages the laces , also the stitches on the tongue is really weak . Better unstitch it .
Final point :it definitely misses a lace hole .
I'm going to send them back and purchase as much 6 available .
Wow! Sorry to hear about your experience. You know something odd I've noticed in speaking with people, those who liked the 6, don't seem to care for the 7, and those who like the 7 didn't care for the 6 - like me.
Perceived obsolescence
If you take a look at my reviews, perceived obsolescence is not the case here. Examples are Reebok X1 not being as good as the X, or even the last two apple watches aren't worth upgrades over the 4. I break down technical aspects of products. My review is that this is truly a better shoe than the 6.
