About the Teacher
Meredith Rathbone has over 20 years of ASL second language experience. She holds a M.Ed. in Special Education with an emphasis in Deaf and Hard of Hearing and B.A. in ASL to English Interpretation. She is a nationally certified education interpreter and state certified ASL Teacher.
Meredith has been in and around the Deaf community since she was 10-years-old and took her first community ASL class with her mom. She learned ASL from signing with the the Deaf at church and community events and later studied ASL in college to refine her skills and learn to interpret and teach.

I would love to see a debate with just sign language. That would be interesting
learning asl helped my muscles alot. i had bone marrow transplant and the gvhd effected my joints and muscles, my finger muscles hurt alot, practicing asl signs made the pain go away

Thank you so much Meredith. My sister is Deaf and I teach ASL. For my advanced students they are learning to see signs and words finger spelled on other people's hands not just mine. Your videos are so helpful and the signs are accurate and up to date which helps a lot as some signs I have been using are old. Thank you for all you do 🤟
I'm so glad you're making more variety in your videos. So many of the ASL videos I find are just basic words (which are important) but I'm trying to expand my ASL vocabulary further. Love it, keep em coming! 🤟

Sometimes I work the elections. This video is handy for the upcoming presidential election in November! The sign for REPUBLICAN reminds me of the sign for RESTROOM, so I will be sure to bounce my Rs far apart for the latter sign. What a difference a few movements of the hand makes! I scrolled back about 2 years, there is medical and animal videos, but what about maybe veterinary? I saw some tech videos too, the thought I had was maybe IT specific, although that might be a bunch of fingerspelling. Things like: router, server, network, wiring, printer, so forth
