- I like the way it STARTS like one of those classic time-lapse train trips from the Fifties - then LITERALLY goes off the rails! If you stumbled upon this piece - pass it ON!
I was in the RAF (Nat Serv) in a fixer station near Skipsea in 1949 and used this line on weekend leaves to London. I loved it. Would the engine get us over the next hill? And seeing dawn by leaning out of the window. Wonderful. Though Hull station was a real post-war mess. Whoever posted this, your enormous and dedicated labour was not in vain, bless you. You made a happy man feel old. Er...
This is wonderful! Great fun with more than a tinge of regret for a lost line.
Great! Good footage. Great music. Funny ending.
Saw this at the Railway Ramblers meeting at Chapeltown yesterday!
Great stuff.

I can imagine what it must be like, having a railway line running through your house!
Nice work. well done.
Wow to do that journey now you would have to get a Hull Trains service to Kings Cross and then a First Capital Connect service back up the ECML i bet it takes 3 times longer than this line did.
I don't think the station in Hornsea is actually in the sea.
spelling should be HORNSEA Hornsey is London N8
