- I tried to follow the directions in the book to a T. The instructions I am giving are quoted exactly from the famous cookbook, “Jerusalem”, word-for-word.

Yotam Ottolenghi is a fantastic chef. He featured on Masterchef Australia a few years ago and I was very impressed with him. Chicken with caramelized onion and cardamom rice, what a lovely dish and of course you have cooked it perfectly my friend, it looks so delicious!!!

I've made this recipe a couple of times now and I just love it! The scents you get from the combination of cinnamon and cardamom and the other spices is just delicious and I've got to say... I do love a one pot meal! Really excellent recipe. So easy to make.
I love Ottolenghi's Mejadra as well. It might actually be my favourite Ottolenghi recipe (and you have to have it with his yoghurt and cucumber side dish to get the best combination of flavours) but found it much much more time consuming to make compared to this dish!
