Even before Peter physically disappeared, you can see that they've already begun to forget about him, considering how they initially ignore him after he joins both world together.
One of the biggest mind fucks EVER. Years later, I still can't wrap my head around this. I was left speechless, wondering aloud what the fuck just happened...
does anyone else think that those memory flashes seemingly shared between Olivia and Peter as Peter was entering the machine are going to come back into play big time now that "they don't remember Peter" anymore
I believe this is just a glimpse of what may happen to mystery and all. that this story is not over yet, there may be many, many possibilities, and different interpretations. So let's hope the fourth season and think about the unimaginable.
My jaw has NEVER dropped so low - especially when the other characters didn't seem to react to Peter's disappearance... next season's gonna be so complex. There'll be multiple time lines, time loops, ppl will not understand why certain things have happened (remember "white tulip"?)... it will be crazy.
I totally get it now...Peter never existed in the new world he created by merging "over here" and "over there"...he only existed in the worlds when they were separate. So...we might just see him again if he changes his choice. So what pretty much happened is another parallel universe popped up due to that decision and thus Peter is still in the "over here" and will probably figure someway to unmerge it, OR make another universe where his choice doesn't kill him off :).
I feel there's something behind Peter's confusion after regaining consciousness following his 1st attempt @ entering the machine. Becuz it's not like he lost his memory - he thought he was in the red universe and Walternate was his father (seemingly one he had a better relationship with) - and the coin? Walter asked him with a certain urgency "Where did you get this?" B4 the quake happened and they got distracted. It seems like we were looking @ a consciousness of Peter from another timeline...
@sugangel7 Yep! Projection Peter was also something else I thought about. And we all know how much Fringe loves going full circle, the writers have always said they love the cyclical nature of the show and tying things back into earlier episodes so I wouldn't be surprised to see some form of Projection Peter popping up again
@LittleGooseWalking @408thefourzeroeight Jeff and Joel have promised us that Josh has a contract for Season 4. Not to worry. I have no idea where the story is going or how they're going to bring Peter back but I learned long ago to trust the writers of this show and that's what I'm going to continue to do.
@toneFT He took the scrolls back in time. They have no point of origin, just like Richard's compass in Lost. And the machine wasn't beyond Walter. It was clearly stated to be similar to Bell's work, none of which is beyond Walter.
@shaun3701 I wouldn't say that...he never existed to the people of the worlds, but the observers have seen him as a good choice in another alternate universe and brought him over to spice it up.
@Thepocalypse If that were true then Walter would be the only one capable of writing the ancient scrolls with Peter and Liv on them, why would Walter write them in a language (including the weird symbols) that is not English that he in the future would need to decipher? Now the thing is how did he learn that language, more importantly if he made the machine how did he make it when it is more advanced then him (intellectually speaking). It has to be a red herring for them to reveal season 4.
Waiting for that moment when Kevin Feige brings in Fringe Division to fix the MCU after the events of Spider-Man no way homeGoing into Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.
@Orbster25 More or less what I'm thinking. Seems like it'd complicate the plot (I mean, would we need doppelgangers of our doppelgangers now? lol) but that's roughly the only thing that makes sense to me... only thing that still confuses me is WHY he doesn't exist here. Must've somehow killed his grandfather or something. ;)
@dpilz28 Definitely! I'm sure the beginning of S3 with Olivia seeing Projection!Peter while Over There holds some clues about how it will all unfold too! :)
Just think this could have been the last episode of Fringe EVER, imagine how crazy we would be then :P also does anyone know if Joshua Jackson got signed on for season 4?? I'm sure he did but just to be sure :P
@LittleGooseWalking I sure do hope they bring pete back and that his "disappearance" is just to make the storyline interesting. The thing is, if they don't bring PB back, is that because Josh wants out of the show and pursue other acting jobs, maybe films?
@toffy58 oh, Come on, for god's sake, the show is not all about Peter XD besides, do you really think that the writers would eliminate this character? ù_ù I don't like peter, but i would never stop watching a show because a character dies, it would mean that i'm just a superficial and silly person^^
LOL, guys Peter will be in season 4 it's just part of the story line. I don't think Walter and them were the first people I think that's Peters assumption, the writing on the scrolls looks nothing like English, Walter never built the machine they just found the pieces and put it together. Peter obviously did exist, he might be in the past or in another universe now since the changes. I think season 4 will deal with the multiverse along with getting Peter back and fixing the 2 universes.
I remember freaking out when no one reacted to Peter disappearing.
A. Mikey B. AAAAAAAAA XD

@TheKitKatRaptor yes, the producers have already said he is still on a contract and they have plans for him.
The finale served it's true purpose: Me wanting season four right now!

This has aged well.

on same note i loved how all fringe investigations were used to defeat observers in last episode
And screams of "No!! It can't be true!" ensued...
Countdown to Season Four begins, NOW
@SnoopysOtherBird I'm sure there is a reason why Peter disappeared. We just don't know what it is yet :).

@JadeeLovesTVD They forgot he existed after he dissapeared. He ceased to exist as he was talking to the Walters.
Waiting for that moment when Kevin Feige brings in Fringe Division to fix the MCU after the events of Spider-Man no way homeGoing into Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.
Peter did exist, but he and Walter were never saved by the observer September. It was a wrong choice of words.
@SnoopysOtherBird
Only time will tell and you will have to tune into S4 to find out if your right ;0)
@brickdancer14
I am a little confused but we now have 4 months to speculate
Thank God they didn't cancel it!

I was glad that walternate and Walter or Olivia and Bolivia didnt fight each other again
Just think this could have been the last episode of Fringe EVER, imagine how crazy we would be then :P also does anyone know if Joshua Jackson got signed on for season 4?? I'm sure he did but just to be sure :P

so will peter not be in season four
@Eomira
1,2,3,4,5,6...
@toneFT Walter, Ella, and Astrid being the first people is the only way the plot makes sense.
If they didn't know who Peter was, then why was Olivia talking to him? :S
I'm so so confused!;p
@keepingthetardis
I think Walter always crosses to the other side maybe in the new time line he was motivated by something else
Same motivation. Different outcome.
This ending killed the entire Series and created an impossible and unlogical paradox. I think they screwed it up.
@toffy58 oh, Come on, for god's sake, the show is not all about Peter XD besides, do you really think that the writers would eliminate this character? ù_ù I don't like peter, but i would never stop watching a show because a character dies, it would mean that i'm just a superficial and silly person^^
@gillybabies I think Iam right.

Ok wtf just happened?? If their telling the truth and peter never exsisted, ill stop watching this show.
