In this weeks video we return to Kings Lynn to visit Anglia Car Auctions, June classic car sale! The auction is spread over a full weekend with 270+ lots in this one. There was a huge selection of classic cars and I did try and video a wider variety, although there were plenty of fords that I gravitated towards!
At this auction I decided to finally put my money where my mouth is and deposited £500 in exchange for a bidding card. There was a great condition Mk5 escort van that caught my attention and being a no reserve lot, I decided to have a few bids. As you’ll see in the video the van went much higher than I expected! I really enjoyed the auction buzz and can see myself bidding on other classics in the future.
Overall the whole weekend was brilliant, the sun was beaming down and the classic cars were being auctioned off gradually. I spot many cars that I know little about in this video but thankfully ACA have some great write ups on the vehicles to educate you.

I used to own a powder blue '58 100E ( at 24:39, just different color) back when I was in high school. I loved that car and wish I could find another like it here in the US. Great fuel economy and easy to work on. At 35:24 is another Ford Anglia whose body style is like one I owned in the middle 60's. Mine was a medium blue. That car was really powerful for it's size and never gave one moment's trouble.
Great coverage of the auction. The amount of editing you must have done aligning your viewing of the cars with the auction price of each one is fantastic.

Yes that was a bargain! I had to double check it sold and it did, final price after fees was £3,564 not bad at all 👌🏻

Ten to twelve thousand for a Ford Anglia ? Blimey , wish i'd kept tmine in the 1960's. I swopped it for a 500cc twin motorbike and some cash.

Interesting video....thanks. Some much lower prices achieved than I would have expected. This may have been covered before, but in case not...the pronunciation of the Renault Fuego Coupe is 'FWAYGO' (Spanish for 'Fire'). I worked for a Renault main dealer in the late '70's and had a brand new red Fuego as a demonstrator. A very nice car (for it's day) and this one was certainly worth the 4K it made at this auction.

Very interesting. Those old classics were selling for much less than I expected. Even the really nice ones were knocked out for less than half the price of a new car. And whereas the newby will drop thousands as soon as you drive out of the showroom, with a bit of TLC these bangers are gonna continue to rise in value, as well as being a doddle to fix and maintain. One other thing - I'm sure I glimpsed an MV Agusta 750S amongst the motorcycles, which would probably be worth way more than any of the cars you featured...

Born in the early 50s seeing some of these beauties, like the Ford Anglia (had one in '70) and the 1600e (had one in '72) and loved them both. Makes me feel quite Melancholy...but happy at the same time that I enjoyed owning them
.. along with a Mini (who never had one of those) MGB, Ford Van, Hillman Imp, Austin 1100 etc;etc 🤗...thank you for making the video son, thoroughly enjoyed it. 👍

Hi Mitch, great video as usual. The Renault fuego was a great car. I owned one back in the day. I'll try to say it the way it was in the 80s, Renault fwaygo is the closest you'll get to saying it right 😂 I know you struggled in the video but you doing a great job. I follow Anglia car Auctions and did see you and Lauren at the front filming all the best.

The makers announced at time, that the Renault Due to is pronounced " FWAYGO"! I incidentally on cars with a long ways Speedo, that's called a STRIP speedometer, or RIBBON speedometer. (History lesson!)

Pretty diverse menu mate fantastic, Love an old ford bought up with them. if only i had kept some the motors i had😁 What was the wood mini all about, it takes all sorts, my daughter thought it was amazing. Foo way go. From memory they had a vacuum operated central locking. They could be unlocked by pumping half a tennis ball over the door lock barrel. Great vid Mitch. Keep em coming.👍🏻

Great coverage Mitch. Best car by far was the Cortina 1600 Super estate, it's the last car but was well worth the wait. Would love it and use it.

Loved the video, as said i to can't remember the last Fuego i saw, my parents loved the Renault 17 Ts coupe at the time. Yes loads of lovely land rovers i saw to and that " big army truck " was a 101 and should have a rover V8 in it, thanks again Mitch 👍

A few decades since ive seen a renault fuego turbo.
You used to see them quite a lot back in the day.
I always pronounce them to sound like fwaygo, which i think im right in saying.

Great video with a nice selection of vehicles some of which at great prices. Especially liked that wooden mini. Any ideas what the A35 countryman at around the 3 minute mark went for?

A really good auction with some real treats going through the doors, I can't remember the last Fuego (foo-ay-go) that I saw. Lauren has good taste, my favourite Mini is a Clubman estate and the green one was gorgeous, the wooden one although very well done.......na!! not for me!

Interesting to see the Renault Fuego - I had one new as a company car, back in the day. Not a particularly great car, I have to say. But good to see one still knocking about.

Hello Mitch from Australia. Renault Fuego ..... Fuego is Spanish for FIRE !!!!. They were sold in Aussie with a 2 litre non turbo engine. The standard wheels were a METRIC size. Michelin were the only ones to sell metric size tyres and were expensive. Thats why most people fitted 14" wheels because thet could not afford the Michelin Metric tyres. Cheers. Max.

I bought the MG TF from this auction. Not sure I got a great deal, as it was on eof the very few cars across the two days to go above the upper guide price. But seems to be a good un', fingers crossed

Another good video I think the MK 11 Cortina GT Rally car was superb I think it would probably cost over £30 000 pounds to prepare to that standard.
I agree! The cortina never sold I believe, provisional prices so would be interesting to hear what it eventually sells for 👍🏻

Hi Mich,I don't usually comment but. I believe that in the UK, it is legal to drive a car without tax and mot. If it is booked in for an mot at your local garage. The vehicle would need to be insured, and otherwise road legal, tyres, brakes ext. I recently bought my motorbike this way. Loving your videos, Scott

Renault Fuego (Spanish for fire), its Foo-eh-go 👍 That Volvo has one of their famous red-block engines, a truly unbreakable engine. They have bigger main bearings than a Ferrari of the same period. A much sought-after engine, I'm surprised it sold so cheap - that engine alone could fetch that asking price.

Them escort vans 55 worth a fair bit now the rims on that decrease the price as it’s not got the original steelies on it
Cracking e-type Jag next to the white fiesta and you didn’t even mention it let alone show us round it!
As you can hopefully understand there were 270 lots at this auction and it would make a 5,6,7 hour long video if I featured them all. If I see another e-type jag at these auctions I will definitely take a look around it 👍🏻

THE LAST CAR THE FORD CORTINA ESTATE HAS HAD THE 1600 E INTERIA PUT IN TO IT POSS. THE ENGINE ASWELL
great video but some of them car prices are crazy the 80s to 90s cars prices i sold a 86 escort 1,3 needed tidy up but sold car £450 last year, i wish id kept my mk1 3lt capri and a custom mk11 3,2 crayford conversion ,id have no idea what that would e worth these days ,i had a mk11 escort with a very scrange gearbox in it it went clockwise instead of forward back to 2rd 2rd was 3rd normal site had to pull it across and up for 2rd 3rd was back from 2rd very odd gearbox never seen one before or since,did have a lot of rally tuned parts on it ,

You do like your Fords , they made great cheap hire cars back in the 80/90’s . Still, I saw a few nice cars you weren’t highlighting, that LHD Fiat was a cracker.
I certainly do like my fords! I’m trying my best to record a wider range of vehicles and that one must’ve slipped though the net!
THAT WAS THE BEST TRANSIT ENGINE THE 2.5 DIESEL AS LONG AS YOU CHANGE THE CAM BELT EVERY 40 THOU..IF THE BELT DOES GO YOU JUST REPLACE THE PUSHRODS AND ROCKERS
It seems like almost all the cars were Fords based on your coverage, I was hoping for a much more interesting range of cars at an auction like this.
My channel mainly focuses on fords but I have been improving the wider range of vehicles and thought this video had plenty of other cars too! Although I will keep trying to record other brands/models of vehicles 👍🏻
Renault Fuego ( Fire) those came around early 1990's when Renault bought AMC shares,,,I don't see Japanese cars,, lol ie the Mazda RX series,,I love he those Triumph TR series
