- Government has warned former President Edgar Lungu to stop inciting violence against members of the public and civil servants.
During a public rally on Saturday in Samfya during a citizen’s first rally, Mr. Lungu said civil servants who were doing wrong would be dealt with individually when he returned back to power in 2026.

Jack Mwiimbu says it is concerning that a former head of state can issue a malicious statement that can threaten national security.
Mr Mwimbu has urged Mr. Lungu and other political leaders to be more responsible in their utterances to avoid causing public outrage.
And Mr. Mwiimbu has warned that those who spread propaganda, hate speech and those who commit online crimes are liable to five years imprisonment.
He says the spread of false news has become rampant and has the potential to cause insecurity in the nation.
At the same briefing, Technology and Science Minister Felix Mutati assured that investment in cyber security is being made to curb misinformation and online scams.

There were no inciting words the former President said. He simply was telling the Police to be professional and not aligning themselves to upnd or being un professional by carrying out idiotic orders.
