I'm terribly sorry for your loss of sweet boy Paxton. I know you two, are heartbroken, as are Poppy, and Penelope. I only hope you got to say goodbye to your little angel before he crossed the rainbow bridge. I hope you saved a blanket or something with Paxton's scent to comfort Poppy. My heartfelt condolences to you all. Thank you for making Pax's last months be his best with all your love and care. I miss him, too and will always think of him whenever I see a sweet potato. I'm thankful that you all were able to give Paxton some much needed love and affection in the last part of his life. He was starved for attention and loved his scratches.

I’m just seeing this and finding that Paxton has passed 😢 I can’t imagine how you all feel as I am tearful for the loss of this sweet little guy. It’s a testament to him, that many of us are tearful. No matter how short a time he shared our lives, he made it brighter. You, your wife and Poppy made his infinitely better for the time he had with you. It’s just so hard to understand why he had to go and he will never know how he touched us all. Thank you so much for sharing him with us. Peace to you all as you heal. Ive shared many stories beginning with "Poppy and Paxton, the 3 legged prairie dog..." I have a disability. My back and my heart is broken. Paxton is proof that love conquers all. Hes shown me I have nothing to complain about. On all of the gloomy days, they bring me so much joy. Thank you, Paul and Breen for being such amazing humans!

I can see why you chose to have a prairie dog as a pet. Very high maintenance, very destructive, but also extremely cute and hilarious. She sure does a much better job of alleviating anxiety than one of those fidget rings!!! When you pet her, she relaxes. Just watching her relax makes it seem that all is right with the world. ❤ It's so sad that Paxton isn't here anymore. He fought to hold on because he knew love and happiness for the first time in his life. Thank you for making his last months joyful!!

I miss seeing Paxton so much he was such a sweet boy and you can tell how Poppy misses him too, she is definitely not herself. It so hard to see her this sad. I know it’s too soon, but maybe y’all should consider getting her another companion future wise.

Poppy and I miss Paxton so much. Both gave me so much joy. My little Sam, a Jack Russell, died at the end of March at the proud age of 20. We were together 24 hours a day and were one heart and one soul. It's so hard to lose a true friend. I wish you the best, Love and Peace from Germany.

I'm so sorry for your loss. 20 years is fantastic, clearly you were an amazing pet parent to Sam. I lost my corgi Gypsy the end of January at age 14. It's so hard losing your family members. I'm still having trouble processing the grief.

I think Poppy might be enjoying the warmth of the lamp. We had a fireplace growing up and the dogs would make a ring around it. Made it hard at times to get to the fire to stoke or add wood but there was no place they would rather be.

Although I lived vicariously as Paxton's great human cyber aunt from Texas, that he has never met, I am truly saddened and gravely impacted by the loss of such a sweet creature.
