A nice little charge controller where you can adjust the current via resistors, I bought some as breakout with USB-C connection and use them in my own projects, I also charge lithium polymer batteries with them, which works very well, mine are set to 1 amp charging current. I have also used this IC to charge the batteries and additionally there are ICs on the small board with which you can protect the battery, I also like to use these boards.

Nope, you’re judging the plastic case and not taking into account the charging circuit. All charging circuits are cheap. The worst that could happen here is charge a lithium cell to 5v, and most are rated to handle 12v without fire.
@@RinoaL some circuits go through testing and certification, some are cheap garbage bought off ebay and amazon, two tech giants who are using a loop-hole in consumer protection laws where they are not held liable for damages unlike a normal retailer like adafruit or robotshop
