- To get your suspension properly dialed, just make your life easy and go to Barry at 3DM Motorsport. He helped dial in this suspension in for me and helped along the way as I fumbled through it.

My favourite of all your cars. The E36 is a close second. Love it
What about the RS?
@@ErnstDetailing The RS is a great car. But for an attainable car (for me), Matt has created perfect versions. Just something about a clean M car.
Separate shock and spring is known as a divorced setup
I always call it a “bucket” setup
I realize it's kinda off topic but does anyone know of a good site to watch new series online ?
Love how you explained to us and love the e92 m3 wheel center cap
Man your M3 looks gorgeous! Thanks for the M3 content!
Just emailed them asking what would be best for my 340i. Great video, thank you!
Good stuff Matt..Love the E92! Cant wait for the new Milwaukee to be in stock at OG.
Matt, look into a grounding strap when using the dry ice machine. It is just a little wrist band that has a wire running to an alligator clip that you attach to something metal. Guys who build computers have been using them for years to prevent static discharge. This should prevent the shock problem after using the dry ice machine.
Nice Barry did my ohlins on my f80
KW V2/V3 seems to would 100% suit your Needs 👍🏻
After trying many coilovers on my Evo the Ohlins road and track are the ultimate in suspension for the road imo
I love this car man.
It's called a divorced setup! When the spring and shock are separate, they're divorced.
I guess a councilor didn't work.
Would love to see the ice machine on a crusty suede steering wheel
Morning. I watched the M3 polishing. I have an E93 M3. I am a newbie as far as polishing. Is there anything I need to know about going over the cowel. Do I need to tape off the transition area? I bought a griots G9. Ty for the help.
Was one of the first ones to use Ohlins when it was first introduce on the e92 M3 and love them over the KW V3's , ive done dinan before but too conservative for my liking, I changed to swift springs for the rear iirc not sure why lol but nevertheless Ohlins is a very good set up. enjoy!
Have a 13 E92 Comp, love my stock suspension super comfy for everyday and EDC when I want to go backroads. ride height a little high for my liking though. What do you think of just Dinan springs? Heard they lower a half inch which would be perfect for my liking
Exactly what I’m looking for kw vs ohlins on road /daily experience thanks for sharing
@@danielchang6264 @John Katsingris Sorry i didnt see your question, i will just put my response in one paragraph so you'll have an idea and can make a more valid decision...Imho Dinan is ok but there are better ones out there ( And im not a Dinan hater coz i had a Dinan S2.5 E39 M5 at one point and i still have the e39 M5 and some of the dinan parts i just went a different route, i still drive it every so often), for e92 the edc is good but kinda restrictive, i highly recommend going for the coilover even the KW ST's will be good but if want something better i would go with anything that Ohlins make, their dual valve is a game changer. But if your set on springs i'd go eibach, swift springs, H&R and Dinan. the lowest of them all would be the H&R's a little bit stiffer though followed by Swift then eibach then Dinan. Swift Springs would be the medium of all the springs i mentioned (as far as height and comfort)
It's because of the soft stock subframe bushings - most people switched to 12kg rear springs if you bought the Ohlins R&T BMU MI00. The later created the BMU MI01 model that had stiffer rear springs. A good subframe bushing upgrade would still be beneficial but will stiffen the ride. Which you could dial back the settings on the coils.
"I'm gonna do what I always do...mess up my car!" Oh yeah!!!!!
There's a part of me that would love watching people lose their stuff if you called Slipstream "Moreman's Secret Shine Juice" just because it's so different from how you operate lol.
The new suspension setup looks good. Will be interesting to see how it performs.
If U are a fair bit heavier than average you can compensate for that(drive theough mode) so it sit level left and right with no equal heavy passager in the front seat
That spring loose at full droop is a non-issue. Your sway bar keeps them from unseating even if you lifted one side (eg when jumping a berm on track ). It’ll have the same issue as lifting the car on a lift if you do a four wheel jump though lol
How does it ride and handle with the DFV Ohlins??
Are you going to be selling your old shock set up? I think they'll fit my 335i
Matt, I am glad you went with the Ohlins. They are far superior than Dinans. I feel that Dinan outsource their coilovers and make them just good enough for the average OEM+ users. People would pay premium for the Dinan name alone. The Ohlins are designed from the ground up to allow more shock travel. I've used Ohlins and I think you save money long term using Ohlins.
Didn't know Ohlins had a setup for the e36 M3. And, my Ohlins for the e46 M3 don't have that collar to set the height, unfortunately. EDIT: Oh God... I thought I was watching a video of your e36. The e92 has those collars yes...
Matt are you going g corner weight the car?
Scott may be right....the dry iced tire looks more wicked than my OG dressed ones.
Do *not* let friends drive shiny.
Is it to much to make your own dry ice?
the problem with lowering a car too much is that you mess up the roll center. I know that there are roll center correction kits for the e36/46, I dont know about the e92 tho
Loads of roll centre bushes around for the E9X but then you are getting into track setup territory
What is up with the spinning rondels? Mine don't do this as far as I know wow
By combining the spring and shock in to a single unit, you create a single axis ... while rear suspension has a coil spring and shock absorber fitted separately. ... This is often called a Chapman strut (after Colin Chapman). ... If the car didnt have a shock absorber, the vehicle would spring up and down till it lost all its energy. Also known as a divorced setup
With that dry ice machine matt will never lay hands on his steamer again
Love the cleaning and detailing, especially the dry ice 🤯. But not that keen on this suspension install. Feels like I’m watching a kid fumble around on a first date. 😂 nice car though and looks great.
I've installed about 40 sets of coilovers. Every one is different.
you most certainly should call it Secret Magic MM Juice!!
Bro Matt its crazy that you already look like your loosing mad weight!
Must be putting in work, keep it up brotha!
Btw Ohlins are GREAT, and its called a Divorced Setup.
Thanks man. I'm working super hard it and have momentum for the first time in about 5 years.
😍
Why not the Bilstein b16 damptronic to retain Edc?
I considered that, but I prefer to have one setting. I don't like options.
@@ObsessedGarage I’m with you on that one. I immediately hit the M button before I even pull out of the garage. I’m looking forward to seeing how you tuck the wiring away and code out the EDC.
An easy way to remember how the Ö in Öhlins is pronuounced - The Ö is pronounced like I in bird, not uhlins!
👍
Divorced spring setup. 👍
Wiping down the wheels was the most difficult part
hello little BMW hotboi bros
Ö in Öhlins is pronounced as U in burn.
Varsågod.
Because your vinyl floor you’re building up some static there Matt🤷
I love ohlins but I own a tutlewax machine that “literally” keeps any brake dust or funk off for 3 months. $.50 car was blows that crap off for next to nothing and the car wins car shows. I’m not dumping $20k into that.
What the heck?
Gorgeous e92 but way too low for real world driving IMO. Factory EDC suspension is a perfect compromise for street driving. Track (and stance) use different story obviously.
I'm not a baby. This how real men do it.
Lol
In before the poor-o's start complaining about the cost of the EVO dry ice machine.
Yep...
Don’t rip that lip off!!!
Divorced spring and damper!
Mistake is putting race suspension on a street car.
Divorced!
Brings out the 10k dry ice cleaner bragging about how it will change your life and proceeds to clean wheels which aren’t even dirty. 😂🤷🏼♂️
Then states “so the dry ice doesn’t completely clean”
What a muppet
