Thank you so much for posting this!! Made my day ! I viewed that pass at 5:41 about 5 times. '41 Willys gasser was my favorite car back in the early '60s (born in '57). Still love seeing them when ever i can.
Very cool. I knew it was going to be a great time when I heard the surf music. Thank You Dick Dale and Link Wray for the awesome tunes! You guys will always live on.
Beautifully shot, and as another viewer mentioned, the color is gorgeous! Not sure if BRISCO Media or someone from TROG will be able to answer; Why is the drag strip on a slight curve? (an illusion of camera angle?) and why is a dude flagging the starts? (Traditionally its a lovely young lady...as it was for the east Coast TROG) Love it!!!... wish I could have been there, thank god for RUclips.
Hey there Ken, thank you! As far the strip, that was the only spot in Santa Barbara that they would allow us to race on. Let alone back in the day, the roads weren't perfect either! The flagger was a fill in, as the normal lady wasnt able to come. Thanks for watching!
The young man flagging must be in Hella good shape! Very cool. I grew up near OCIR and when there were Top Fuel or Funny Cars there you could hear it for miles!
I can't exactly put it into words but the video image quality/style is captivating. I was excited until I saw mention of a RED One MX and knew then that I'd never shoot such spectacular video. I'd still love to see a tutorial going over how you shoot and get the video to look so great even if I'd never be able to do it myself.
wish I was able to see it up close. I miss my hometown of Santa Barbara. Got one more year of the Navy, then maybe I will return to Santa Barbata for retirement. C/O 99 DPHS
@@BriscoMedia I have a Y-Block powered '26 T Roadster, hoping to have at the Dirt Drags in Co this year. I have a '29 A coupe I'm finishing and a '34 5 window in the wings.
Being born and bred a santa barbarian...I only wanna know when was this and why wasn't I told? My dad and I love old school cars and races like this so this would've been right up our ally and a great excuse to get out of LA.
Great video!! It looked like a fun event to attend! Did you know about the car show in Orcutt on the 16th? It’s in a church parking lot by McDonald’s and idk there might be some nice cars to take pics of👍
What made it so pure; the lack of performance, a "dragstrip" with a curve in it, or all the "groovy-dude" Harley Davidson banners in the background of every shot?
They couldn't of found a straight street? Seems to me the road leading to the start line was straight. It is California someone probably complained lmao!
see, this is the kind of racing I'd like to do good old fashioned speed, no need to drop 80k on building a drag car engine and then blow it up on the first pass no turbos, no nitro, no computers, only carburetors, gas, and stack injection cool old stripped down A's, gassers, and Harley bobber bikes this is the way to do it
I want Woerthersee to be full of this type of cars instead of the modern ones. I do enjoy both genres but hmm would be nice, i wouldnt have to travel far to experience proper hot rods : )))
I thought there would be more Hotrods and Customs.. Watching the same cars and motorcycles go down the track was boring after the first hour or so and unless you were at the starting line you could not hear the announcer. Well, I can say I was there.
There are two types of hipsters, there are the lame ones that don’t know how a hammer works, or how to change a flat tire but have a sweet beard and flannel collection. And then there are these guys. The real hipsters.
I really liked the color grading on this. Took it up 11 notches. Great job.
Thanks Matt!
And on this day not a single speed limit was broken.
I cant talk too much, driving 50 in my Stock Model A seems sketch. It was fun though!
No doubt.
its more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow

Those guys are from my home town! They run Hot Rod Ranch in Lompoc, CA. They have a gasser roundup sometimes
@@BriscoMedia Thanks for the reply. Lompoc is a nice town. One that got away settled there.
Very cool. I knew it was going to be a great time when I heard the surf music. Thank You Dick Dale and Link Wray for the awesome tunes! You guys will always live on.
Surf music is here to stay my man!
Great footage. Stoked that you got a shot of my buddy Josh Kohn(#77 Harley) at the starting line. TROG
He did some good racing!
Matt, you have to put a timestamp so we can see who you are referring to.
This looks like a total riot! Very cool vintage event and I would love to see in person! Thanks for the video.
Thanks TJ!
Great race - lovely video!👏😍
Well done video, audio and music selection... fantastic.
Thank you!
My mind can't comprehend this ,drag racing in Santa barbara.this can't be real.
It is! After seeing it at Pismo, and now Santa Barbara, I'm curious where it'll be next!
@@BriscoMedia so awsome
just discovered Santa Barbara Drags wow! Thanks for this amazing clip. Love the „night before” clip. amazing vibe
Thanks Jakub! Make sure to subscribe, I'll be shooting them again, as well as a few other hot rod races!

Perfect color grading! Love this video!
Thanks Nickolas!
Thanks for posting the video.
From the east coast, n was very curious how it all went down.
Long live TROG
Much love! Hoping to make it out to the real TROG sometime, cheers!

Thank you Balazs! Cheers from Santa Barbara!
No sand ? Gave a like, great to watch, thank you for putting this together !
Unfortunately not, most of the cars would get stuck. Thanks for watching!
Amazing coverage! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks for watching! I’m hoping to make it over to the one in NJ in October!
where's the flag girl?
Busy :/
Hes there.
It’s 2019. Too high risk of someone finding her role inappropriate
Its Cali the people running the even are probably SJW´s
No California girl to throw the flags? Weak.

Well thank you for your service! How goes living on a boat?
Fabulous, the lightning, maybe a filter or is California always like ,,,perfectly lit
I'd say a little bit of both!
Just another winter day here in So Cal.
Great video!
Thank you!
Awesome video! Quality is top notch
Thank you Ralf! Hoping to make it out to TROG East this year!
nice video old skool drags flatheads forever
Thanks, hell yeah!
Good seeing those Hot Rod's again, all just hanging out. 😎
And having a good time!
Why does the flag man always jump? Doesn't that make for a lot of confusion?
Miscommunication, it was still fun!
I don't doubt that haha it looks like a lot of fun
Jacob Sereres Because the starter is supposed to be a girl and it's fun to watch girls jump.
Why so few views? This is amazing!
Very cool footage. I'll have to drag my car out there next year.
Thank you sir! What are you racing?

Get on it brotha! Excited to see what you come out with
Let's see it! Have dad bring out Bad News!
fantastic!

dude do you shoot 4k quality vid looks really cool

I can't believe SB went for this...Mesa 4 Life.

Classic drag forever, as transportation technology ever changes.
Nothing cool 'less it's old skool!
Wish I knew how cool this was or I would of came.

Now that's the way it should be ,no NHRA horse shit ,just racing fun,

Where was Sara Francello, the usual starter?????
I think I overheard she had scheduling conflicts or something like that.
She sure adds a little sumthin’ extra that really makes it a show! Just wasn’t the same with a dude flaggin’. 😕
Well hopefully I can make it out to TROG East!
