With the location of the drop ear's the copper pipe is standing proud of the wall studs. When attaching the backer board, if that is what was used, how was the interference the pipe caused by being proud handled? Was the backer board cut, and or tile, notched on its back side? I'm currently installing the 3-function shower system by Sunrise. Thank you.
I am running into same issue using pex line. Guess I just need to back the valve so the pipe doesn't offset the backerboard. Did you guys need to adjust?
@@neillarson974 so what I ended up doing was putting the valve back as if it was a normal shower fixture. Then just put closed brass nipples with couplings. Worked perfectly.
So this isn’t quite correct. Your 90 can’t be ear elbow only as it makes no sense. If you add up backerboard of any kind and add tile with thinset it’s way further in than required 1/5 of an inch. I’m doing mine now and it needs just normal 9 or ear won’t matter and you will need threaded coupler to extend it to make it work. You can’t have pipe past backerboard, pipe should be inside the wall. Thinset on pipe would corrode it too. Extending it past the 90 will vary based on what backer and tile thickness you’re installing. Just allow 1/5 of an inch from a finished surface and you’d be good to go.
You know it's ok to talk in your videos, right? I literally came here to see how far past the stud you put the 90's. I can see they're protruding past the stud. But that's it.
Manufacturing does not recommend removing the cartridges, but if no leaks, good job. thanks for the video
Going to install one of these today... we'll see how it goes!!!
How did it go did you have trouble screwing on the showerhead and the tub spout
@@joekatz7819 I am having issues screwing on head and spout. How’s you make out?
How is it holding up? good pressure? Cartridge still good?

Can you please show me how to adjust the water temperature in that valve? Thank you.
i'm looking for the same guide, i had this system installed and just get either hot or cold water, no variable temp in between.
I have the same situation
@@yordytudjlatino it’s easy to adjust open the housing there is a pinion inside under the handle you skip the teeth will adjust your hot water…
Did you seal behind handle cover plare.
Just had one installed but the hot service is half the cold pressure, any thoughts
How far out does the drop eat threaded 90 come out from the stud for the spray held.
the pipe (cpvc or copper) flush with the wood (2x4) as seen in the video
How would you drywall with pipes outside the studs?
I would like to hear the answer!
I did what u suggested and water isn't getting through
great job !!
Why you remove stem valve at the end you supposed to remove it before welding
all due respect for the old school pipe method. Why would you not use Pex its so much simpler and faster??

Same question. Just installed the valve but I’m hesitant in starting to put the sheets of durock up

Same question ….. would think the pipe needs be behind studs but instructions say ell flush with tile. Anyone use just a straight female adapter?
@@DavidHerrera-dh5yethe instruction suck. Though this video doesn't suck completely, it sucks just enough for me to go look for another video.
Did u mount it to 1×4 or2×4 ?
Lookes like the shower/handheld pipes are flush with the stud
