I can understand the tender way, dreamy way here - the original lyrics are in contrast to this way of beauty, they tell about a boy who takes a girl called Eve to dance though her mother objects. So there's speed of dance and also boast against authority in the attitude of the singer. But, the lyrics are from the 30´s or 20's. Yet the song is older, so there might have been other lyrics earlier, which we don't know. This has been played also as a lullaby, and this fits beautifully for that :)
I understand that too many time was elapsed since you uploaded the video and that this is just an improvization, but maybe you have MIDI for this?) Your cover is perfect and I long for notes I can use to learn this...
Ah apologies Alex, I'm afraid I don't! Like I say, I just worked it out by ear and made it up as I went along - best I can do is give you the chords? Am, Am, G, Am (x2) / C, G, G, Am (x2) - it's pretty much just that repeated! Hope that helps some, and thanks so much for the kind words! :)
