The solving of this case really impress me. How the scientists could give the victim her face back was just stunning. It just shows, that no matter to which length the criminal mind goes, the mind of the scientist will defeat it. I am so sorry for the young woman's family, who wanted to give her a better future, and then this ungrateful monster decided she didn't deserve a chance. It is so damn unfair. I hope he rots in prison.

Not all. Some murderers and serial killers have gotten away never to be caught, zodiac, phantom killer, hell BTK would have gotten away if he didn't come back 14 yrs after his last kill to send a floppy 💾 to the cops tracing it back to his church computer. Ted Bundy would have also if he wasn't for the bite mark he left on one of his victims and of course the 1 girl to get away which sentenced him to kidnapping for 1 to 15 years, but even then if he wouldn't have escaped prison he would have gotten out way way early before 15 yrs and back to killing unnoticed but escaping prison and the bite mark he left on his one victim after escaping.

Astonishingly poor detective work. "We have no method. We have no time. We have no place." There are phenomenal forensic tools that were not used here, namely Luminol, which glows where blood has been even if it was cleaned, that either showed nothing unusual, or was not used. No mention of teearing up bathroom floor. No mention of checking bus station security footage, interviewing staff from that day, nor the person who was supposed to meet her. SO much reasonable doubt, SUCH a weak case it's rediculous. Justice was not served for this man. Prosecuters wrongfully convict if the case is big because they want the fame of it. Happens all of the time-innocent people put away for folks to boost their esteem and reputation. IF he would have been hunted down and murdered by family for raping her, that COULD be motive. I am not happy with this one at all. Gobs of reasonable doubt.😢

While there have been too many drownings in the river, this was horrible and we were all nervous because no one knew what , why and who would do this in our peaceful rural town.

The amount of evidence against this low-life was enormous!
I don't know why the prosecution team thought they may loose the case; his lies were so numerous.
He told investigators that her father had verified her return home to Africa. Yet the father sat in the courtroom and was able to refute the claim. The lies went on and on!

    • @andreaberryman5354
      @andreaberryman5354 Год назад

"We have no time. We have no place." They did not PROVE she was killed there by using luminal to detect cleaned up blood. I heard no mention of checking with the bus station staff nor footage. Where is the interview with who she was supposed to meet? This was not justice. They could not even prove how she was killed. They proved she was dead, and he lied. This was HORRIBLE detective work if they cannot prove she was murdered there. A dog indicates death, but not necessarily WHAT. He could have brought home leaking package of ground beef and it got in his trunk. WHERE was all of her BLOOD. No mention they tore up the floor, or tested for blood anywhere other than what could have been menstrual blood. They had virtually nothing. SO much reasonable doubt it's not even funny. VERY weak case, sh*t detective work seeking PROOF-like the masses of blood that would have lit up the place with luminal. This makes me angry. They just wanted the status of winning this. Happens all the time-she seemed quite power-hungry and arrogant.😢

Very painful. We really need to be careful of people who've been staying in the foreign country we are attending to visit or stay at, or people who know a bit about our home countries. Those people tend to be scammers or worse killers like we have seen in this case cause they take advantage of the fact that you do not know anyone and feel safer being closer to them as you share something in common, that could be a race, religion, or just a home country. My older sister was Scammed by a South African in the UK, who transferred my sisters money into his bank account. The money was intended for tuition and accommodation, luckily the police intervened and froze his bank account before spending the money.

I love how they depicted Mulevano before she was identified. The hazy figure of the young woman was so tastefully done. Always just beyond reach, she really piqued my curiosity. Then, that facial reconstruction! Amazing, and such a blend of talented engineers and the wonderfully artistic anthropologist. Even though the killer received his just deserts, it's sad that a beautiful young woman of such promise had her life snatched away, even as it was only beginning.

Dang! Would not want to work with that prosecutor! What a witch! The police cared and nothing was happening. It’s awesome there wa 18:24 s another way but she didn’t know that when she was being such a witch. I have seen time after time when nothing gets done because the prosecutor is too lazy or afraid they will lose. She got lucky! Dan* lady you give women a bad name, if my child was missing I would be grateful to have a cop like him on her case.

Funny thing about this story is that despite incest,African siblings do have sex behind closed doors but NEVER get to marry each other cause its a taboo, the black man just traded the vice abroad and perhaps the cousin sister came to her senses that what MAYBE they had been doing is bad and had to stop,,,,,,,,,,just thinking out loud

There is nowhere to look ??? First of there are DNA databases all around, true the victim might not be in any of them, but it would be a start. Next to that, there are always some basic clues. If there is any sort or type of clothes, one can see if the victim was for example homeless, thus checking shelters would help if this was the case. If it would be very expensive or exclusive clothes, one could say, they are only for sale in certain boutiques, thus checking those and compare if one of the costumers disappeared is a solution there. (Most likely it would not yield any result, if the clothes would be rather general, and sold at places like walmart or whatever. But none the less it is something one could look into. So, nowhere to look, seems to me an obvious mistake. Certain clues can be looked at, and might give some results. Not trying to do so, seems to me negligence on part of those supposedly doinng the research.)

There were no centralized DNA databases in 1999, when this crime occurred. Also the victim was found nude, so there were no clothes to be used as evidence.

you are aware that technology wasn't as advanced in 1999? DNA databases weren't really a widely known or used thing

They thought at first she was African American so they didn’t search immigration records. I’m also not sure how accessible/computerized those records were in 2000/2001.

"We do not have a time. We do not have a place." No mention of checking the bus station for security footage, ticket purchase, interviews of staff at the station working that day. People get scared, they don't know what to say. Her things left behind when he said she left nothing is pretty damning, but when in distress, possessions ARE frivilous-had to leave tons behind before. I ALSO do not see Luminal mentioned as being involved in looking for blood anywhere-that is STANDARD when a crime sceane is suspected and thought to have been cleaned. Some EXCEPTIONALLY sketchy men hang around bus stations seeking victims. She would be EXACTLY what they would be looking for. No mention of interviewing who was supposedly picking her up.There is PLENTY of doubt if the things I mention were not implemented. Justice was NOT served here. 100% circumstantial, VERY weak proof with a dog. No mention if they tore up the floor-a VERY critical part of the search for proof. Honestly, Africans are a gentle people. I'm not satisfied with this investigation one iota based SOLELY upon belongings and lies. I would have said no-poor detective work leaves reasonable doubt 100% if they did not PROVE she WAS murdered there. Cadavar dogs DO smell things, but periods can be really messy.

Liminal can't always be used some cleaning materials also react to luminal. In fact instead of trying to clean up the blood killers would do better using those chems to make luminal worthless. Combine that with chems to destroy DNA and even if cops find blood it's worthless to them. Ironically your better off contaminating a crime scene then you are trying to clean it.

Not sure to understand the difference between an American black and an African black. In the first place Africa is a continent made up of so many different tribes... so then ...what is an "African black"?? And they gave her every type of hairstyle except natural hair (which apparently is what this "African black" woman wore lol
