  • My DIY custom cargo/pet barrier. Car is a 2008 Subaru Impreza (hatchback)... but you can use the same technique to make a barrier for ANY car. Why go through the trouble? I couldn't find a custom fit barrier for this car (sold in the US)... and I didn't like the universal fit type.

I love it…although a kitten will likely wiggle its way through unless I make it a bit tighter.thanks for inspo!

Very nice job, we have just bought a 2nd hand 2008 Impreza and I have been looking for dog guards, do you have dimensions for the bracketry that you could share?
    Thanks for posting this video.

This is so good, would you be willing to custom make this for others, for a price?

+Santoshi Naidu I'm afraid not. I am just a hobbyist... as such, even if I charged only minimum wage and for materials, the cost of this would be prohibitive (meaning I am a SLOW worker).

Why go through all that trouble? You could have a better looking net from "Raingler" they make sturdier cargo netting that also has a mesh background rather than wide "1 inch" spaces that will keep puppy noses from getting stuck in the netting, and its all vehicle specific, or in some cases universal....
