My train room doubles as a storage room - otherwise I wouldn't have a train room - so I also have lots of bins and boxes stored under the benchwork that aren't train related - so I'm trying to get the "train stuff" out of those bins and boxes so I can find them when needed!
Organization is a good thing , I still have stuff in boxes from the move , have not found them yet, but you are moving in a positive direction, great video
@@dundasjunctionmodelr.r-jam8267 I have some storage down there - but I want to attach some drawers to the bottom of the layout for tool and camera gear storage, that still leaves the floor clear below for some larger storage bins. That’s the idea anyway… I’ll probably tackle that later this week. Now that I retired, I have time…
Good looking storage and coverup solution. You have screwed the side cover in so does this crate a helix access issue or is there an opening on the other side of the new shelf unit? Thanks for the update.
I can crawl under and fully stand up in the middle of the helix, so I don’t need access from the outside. The “table” that supports the helix has an access hole in the middle.
New subscriber here. Love the storage. Are you super tall or is it a low ceiling? 😀 I’ll have to watch some of your old videos, but from what I see the layout looks really good. -Mark
I'm just over 6' - but it's a low ceiling at that end of the room. Old house, with heating ducts up there that were too much of a pain to move! The other end of the room is better. Thanks for the comment!
Those shelves turned out real nice! Looks good!
Thanks! Good to get that end looking more "finished".
Great job !!
Thank you!
Very nice. Extra storage always comes in handy. Makes things easier to find. Thanks for sharing.
Now that I started on this... Gotta build some drawers to put things in. Need to reduce the number of random boxes all over the floor!
We moved almost a year ago and I still have a lot of boxes to sort through. This is a good option for me to consider when I get organized. Thank you.

Very neat - admire carpentry skill as well!
@@alexmorgan2296 Thanks! I’ve learned to build what I need…
Those shelves are a great idea!
Thanks! They kinda worked out better than I expected.
Very nice, great storage and cover-up idea! 👍
Thanks!

I still have lots of boxes as well. Now I’m figuring out how to add a few drawers to the bottom of the layout for more storage.
@@achb-railway I had a cabinet that I built about 15 years , finally finished it , use under the layout for tools

Nice job. Like clamps there is never enough for what’s needed
I really need to buy some more of the small ones…
@@achb-railway I have found some small spring clamps at the dollar store that work for small parts when you don’t need a lot of pressure
