Steph, this is a beautiful painting! 😊 I love nature and particularly flowers and trees. I love the spring and summer because the trees are in full bloom and the colours look gorgeous! You did a wonderful job talking through your steps and processes too 💕
This is one of my favourite painting so far, i love birds but i love how you juxtopose that pink cherry blossoms against the gold of the bird. Its sort of like a western take on a chinese painting.
lemon yellow is lighter and less saturated and a hint cooler than cadmium yellow (i may have said lemon yellow by accident-sorry if I did) if you have lemon yellow, just add a tiny tiny hint of cadmium red light to it or maybe a hint of orange to it to bring it closer to cadmium yellow. or if you have cadmium yellow but want lemon yellow, you can mix your yellow with white and it will get closer to lemon yellow :)
