In this video we will show you how to remove or replace the radio cd player on Dodge Journey / Fiat Freemont. In Europe Fiat Freemont is actually Dodge Journey and that is why it should be the same procedure to remove and replace the radio cd player. We will demonstrated how to replace the radio on a 2012 Dodge Journey but it should be the same for the whole generation.

I have Fiat Freemont 2013. The previous owner updated the firmware and since then the CD player acts dead. Like it's w/o power in first place. Also every time i turn the info on, i see the 'DISK ERROR' message. Since i don't need cd player actually, is there a way form to just disconnect power supply to cd player itself and hope the error message will be no more?

I have 2012 dodge journey crew and when driving my radio goes off and on the dash it says battery safe mode. I cant even answer calls cause radio is off. In order to get radio working I have to stop my vehicle put in park turn off engine and open my driver side door wait a few mins close the door and restart my engine for the radio to come on. Sometimes I have to repeat the process over again. How do I fix this? When in park radio works fine. Please someone help me please. I need my hands free for work.

I dont understand why you would put an OEM stereo and speakers if you can put aftermarket items so the whole stereo system sounds better
The only aftermarket you can install in a jounrey that has all controls is from china. It's a hit or miss if the radio works properly after a few days. I went through 3 and gave up. The actual setup you're left with is a piece of crap metra frame that goes under the reciever. Which is pointless when you're trying to look at maps.
This video is spot on with directions. I purchased the tools they use from Amazon for $42 and they will be useful for many more repairs. It took me less than 10 minutes to remove and replace my radio. I purchased the salvaged radio from Ebay. If you do this yourself with a salvaged radio make sure to take a pick of the serial number & part number from the salvaged radio along with the vin number from the vehicle number that the radio was taken out of, you will need this information to get the anit-theft code for the radio to work in your car.
My touchscreen broke I got a new screen part for it connected the wires like normal but cant control heat and the screen don't light up do I need to replace this bottom part also
I did not need to replace the touch screen. Also I have the smaller touch screen not the large 8 inch one. I purchased my radio/cd player from Ebay. Make sure you right down the serial number of the radio and get the vin number from the car the item was salvaged from if you go this route. You will then need to go to the Dodge dealer to get the anti-theft code for the new radio.
@@jessamyncurtin5681 my radio works just the screen is busted so I ordered new one hooked new one up and it dont light or or anything do both the screen and the radio run together my screen that is broke lights up and works radio and stuff just cant see the information on the screen
