She’s really awesome, isn’t she? I’m so happy she agreed to do an interview with me. Her work is so cool and it’s inclusive but not blind/unafraid to be critical of what she loves.
@@SecondBreakfastClub yeah her work seems very interesting, I'm gonna check out her stuff when i get the time. It's so awesome to see how BTS have inspired all these different branches of academia and people are coming together and sharing their insights, for lack of a better word its so DOPE lolz. Thanks for sharing
There are cringy moments in AHL from the kidnap to having the rubber chicken thrown down at Jin. Aside from that what I liked about AHL was seeing BTS out of their comfort zone, but being themselves. On AHL is when I noticed each members personalities and among other videos of them. American hustle life gave BTS especially RM and Suga an insight of hip-hop. I am sure there are footage that was not shown or captured of Warren G having a pep talk with BTS. Discussion that is similar to what Nykeah said about how hip-hop is not about chains, ladies, luxury, and money but about putting your thoughts into lyrics, to give a poetry in music form with great beats and melodies. That is hip-hop what I admire. That is what I admire about BTS songs. For the members to experience giving food to the people of skid row and to remember that in a way would bring someone back down to earth and not let fame get over your head. I liked the discussion of AHL one of the shows that introduce me to BTS.
In interviews I worry even my 2 cents is too much, lol! I get so excited I worry about talking over the guest. I’m really grateful my interviewees were so patient and kind.
I loved this interview so much! This was probably my favorite so far. I loved hearing what she had to say about American Hustle Life and the Hiphop community (also Nyke seems so thoughtful and sweet😊) Thanks for doing this interview Launa!
All the thanks goes to Nyke for agreeing to talk with me! This one was particularly hard to set up and she (and her mom who was there the whole time!) were so patient and kind. She has a perspective and voice that deserves to be amplified, especially in ARMY spaces, you know? And it was really cool to talk about AHL. It makes me sad how many just ignore it as “cringe” when it’s so important to the overall story of BTS (and lets be real, many of all of our crucial learning moments in the past were super cringe, lol!)
Second Breakfast Club So true! I love AHL because it helped BTS learn about a different culture that they knew very little about. And Nyke's perspective definitely deserves more attention, it was very informative especially from a woman of the black community such as herself.🙏💜
Stay true of who u r n speak out music that meant a lot personal reason n meant for lots of army. No boundary in music statement n vision how music inspire no matter how raw n rhythm to have. That's how i felt finish watching this interview. Find own identity n voice n stood firm with perspective that meant a lot to them, i wish bts stand guard of who they r with self fulfilment n happy with their music. Thanks for having this interview
I share a lot of the same opinions as Nykeah spoke about it this interview. I think there are many important things that were said about learning from mistakes and growing that people need to hear especially in the current fan culture climate of the past few years.
Same. She’s really amazing and I hope more people follow/listen to her. She has a mix of empathy, curiosity, but also the willingness to call out issues that I think is so important in thinking fandom.
i loved this...as a black ARMY i really appreciate the points she made about why we stick by BTS, she was spot on.
