Gold Nuggets on Pilbara flats

- After not having much luck gold prospecting during the week Mark and Krissy move to this new spot in the Pilbara, Western Australia. Mark manages to metal detect gold straight away close to the camp while Krissy struggles finding gold but instead picks up a nice treasure.
Mark threatens to call his area a patch as he finds four gold nuggets in close proximity but just can’t seem to find the fifth piece (there are at least five gold nuggets in a patch).
It’s starting to heat up in north Western Australia and the hours we spend out detecting are starting to be limited.

Finding that weight was a cool find. You got more excited finding that than the gold lol. I know the heat has to be brutal there just like he in the deserts of Arizona
Sooo much rubbish, it's nice to find something cool occasionally. Right on the edge of the desert here
Good gold there but not much shade.
I like to duck under a tree every now and then for a bit of respite from the relentless sun.
Winter detecting would be great though.
Makes a big difference when you can detect in the shade, like you say, not much out here😬

What settings do you use in the Pilbara?
Love your vids. The penny weight is a very cool find.
We tend to use high yield, difficult and a high sensitivity if possible. No smoothing filters. Thanks for watching, Kim!
At 35 to 40 outside I would cook. It's always nice to find some bigger nuggets. Hope you get rich for your efforts. Great video.
We are rich! We just don't have much money. Maybe one day we can buy an air con van👍🏻
What detectors are you using in the Pilbara? I've been told the GPX5000 can't handle the Iron in the Pilbara?
Hi David, we use the GPZ7000. The 5000 is a very good detector and perfectly able to handle the ground, try 'fine gold' setting in spots where it gets too noisy 👍🏻

I’m guessing its probably too dangerous to detect at night there ? Snakes around at night as well.
You guys are pretty tough.... hot weather, spinnafex, and i assume its hard to spare water to have a wash every night.
Baby wipes are the go
Quick shower every night as we sweat pretty hard all day (after 10 mins really😁). We don't detect at night as we see more snakes at night than during the day. We can carry enough water for a two week stint without laundry work.

It's about time all the gold finds aren't by Krissy, I thought she mustv'e been the only one working for a while. Krissy, when you are hot you sweat so much you can wring your clothes out at the end of the day over here in the NT it looks pleasantly cool in your vidoe's, no heat shimmer, no birds circling in the thermals, MMMMmmmm I think you were just bored with no gold finds, have a good day.

I only find big slugs when Krissi gets too far ahead of me in the gold tally. When are you going to join us again, we need your lucky lucky
