It's time for one of the best video game themes of all time!
Super Mario 64 was a huge part of many of our childhoods if you grew up with the n64 like I did. This theme represents so much excitement for me. When you finally get into that Bowser stage after GRINDING for those 8(?) stars and you can finally take on Bowser himself!
This theme is the first time in the game that you hear a more serious and epic theme. and damn did Mr. Kondo deliver us an amazing boss level theme.
I've known how to play this theme on guitar for many years now but I really wanted to wait until a special time to make it a cover. There are certain themes such as this that mean so much to me that I try to space them out to mark special occasions. I think marking the end of this amazing year is a great time to bust out this arrangement!
as far as my arrangement goes, I really wanted to stay true to the original and just absolutely deliver some crushing guitars and a really enjoyable groove. I tried to find that perfect balance of showing off a little bit of guitar shredding but trying to not take away from the magic of the original. This is always one of the most challenging parts of arranging for me but I think I did pretty good on that balance for this arrangement! Simplicity is sometimes even more fun then super complex playing.
Overall I had such a blast playing this and putting this all together. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it!
This year was such a phenomenal year. I went through a lot of amazing things, and a few particular very hard personal things. and I feel so much more experienced and alive and ready to take on 2019.

Best cover I've heard of this classic tune. Very catchy while retaining the atmospheric ambience of the original, which is something many remix artists tend to fail at for songs like this.

Dude you make me want to start playing guitar but I can’t for the life of me read music and correlate the notes to the strings so I’m shit out of luck but this goes absolutely HARD!
Never learned how to read sheet music and notes either, but guitar thankfully has it's own system, called tabs! They look complicated at first but really aren't. I also recently started playing and tabs are honestly amazing
