If I’m honest, watching these videos of the newer builds, I think I prefer the older neighborhoods and homes. Nothing wrong with these. I just think older ones have charm and character that goes with the area and some level of tasteful uniformity. The newer ones seem like everyone trying to one up everyone and there’s no rhyme or reason to the suburb. I remember back in the day I’d know I’m in Glen Lorne or Mt Pleasant or highlands or Chisi or mabelreign or kambanji. Or when you were in bluff hill Marlborough area. They had a feel to them. With these it’s just a collection of name brand homes in name brand areas. Unless over time they’ll develop that way, it seems it’s all about stands and building whatever comes to your mind without actual zoning or planning to make the parts fit into the whole sum. I guess it’s the same here in inner Toronto suburbs I prefer the older homes in established areas that are unique but fit the theme of the area. You go out into the suburbs 40 minutes outside it’s big homes palatial and look nice but when you go in it doesn’t fit the exterior and there’s no character to the home and it’s just a rush to build. By the way how do you rank areas from 1-10 as of today?
Totally agree💯, …these new builds all look like Nigerian Movie Mansions, but I also appreciate that maybe the current Zimbabwe belongs to a different generation with different tastes so to each their own I guess🤗.
