Okay. So now I realize why YG put GD and YB to their teams. Team A had always lack the fun when performing and Taeyang is good at that. So YG made Taeyang teach them how to have fun and loosened up.
While Team B is always having fun but failed on stage presence (individually). And that is GD's specialty. So GD taught them to have powerful stage presence without losing their fun vibe.
Conclusion: YG is really a genius. YG really knew how to address his artists' weakness

Every time I come back and watch this episode I get thrilled for Team A because there was a true turning point when Taeyang helped them learn how to enjoy their own stage and performance.

GD taught Team B how to look good on stage. Taeyang taught Team A how to feel good on stage.
In the long run, I think Taeyang's mentorship helped Team A better. GDYB mentoring trainees now :D Before, they were trainees themselves who used to mop the floor in the training room. Look how far they've come.
Like I feel for a long time ago, between GD and Taeyang more like:
GD is very catchy n very very very good to look him on stage. He always get on spotlight wherever he go.
Taeyang is great and no need to watch his visual, I still get in his music with soulful. He is like a thief which always can make people move forward onto him so easily.
Both of them are great artist, not just as a singer or rapper. :)
I agree with you and I believe that Taeyang helped them become more better at performing on stage. Like helped them gain the confidence they needed.
Traces of Taeyang's mentorship are still there when WINNER debuted. "Have fun, enjoy the stage.." Sometimes, they're the only ones who looked really happy and comfortable in music shows and award shows. They don't let the pressure show in their performance.
Well that's because team B already look natural and good on stage, while team A seems awkward and mechanic, so Taeyang help them to look more natural, while GD have a group that IS natural; he just apply some things.

im seeing seungri in a different light. i used to think that he's the dead weight in BB but now i feel so sorry for being completely wrong. I think he's the one who holds the group together. I see that he's the one among the 5 of them who makes the extra effort to keep them connected. He even interacts with trainees whom he simply could ignore but he chooses to be friendly with them instead. It hurts to think how he really feels when he told Jinwoo not to be like that or he'll end up like him. And when he hugged him before the trainees go, it shows that he truly cares. And i'm like, how could he worry about others when he has himself to worry about. OMG Seungri i'm so sorryyyyyy.

yeah our seungri is good^^ Yeah it really hurt me when he told jinwoo that. He has said a lot of times that he wants to be cool too. And yet I see even seungri stans saying that being cool is not his style. Ah I hope seungri can really show what he wants to show. Actually this year seungri improved a lot! +Roei Dimmz Seungri is the glue that holds them together ... actually both younger ones keep the group close because they are so open and through them the older three who usually feel embarrassed to be to open and vulnerable get to share their own feelings about how important they are to each other.
GD has said so many times that even if Seungri is the youngest, he has matured into a man who acts like the hyung among them and gives them support in hard times, always reminds them that they are the happiest when together and unbeatable.
Don't be fooled by Seungri's act of being a cute little panda always being pushed around by the elders --- he consciously does it to give all of them a chance to express themselves.After that shitty year they had,, he has mature so much that you always see him trying to push his subdued and overly careful hyungs into expressing more of themselves. After 2011, they all had become more tactful and careful on shows and stuff -- Seungri was the one who kept all of them connected to the outer world and served as a security blanket they all could rely on in public when Daesung was so mellow and broken and GD was so hurt and depressed.

Looking at how the things turned out, I can safely say that the observation "Team B is always having fun and Team A is always serious" has deeper meaning.
When they debuted, Winner showed professionalism because they look so serious on stage and they know when to be playful.
In Mix and Match, iKON showed that they're more of party/concert performers all about fun and pumping up the crowd.
They're like BB, really. BB/ BB members on music shows is like Winner and BB on concerts is iKON. Love them both anyways

This made me realize that TAE YANG makes such a great mentor/teacher because he's so critical but gives the best feedback and helpful advice. He clearly knows what works and what doesn't and he's really good at explaining. I love that he was able to help Team A loosen up after that exercise because it really shows how much they've changed after that battle.
I love how GD's teach team B , the way he talk with them its like they are bestfriend and one more i likee GD's style on stage he is so fckinggg cool !!
LOL you gotta love how GD gets involved in every aspect of a performance from the singing to arrangement to gestures to moves and positions to the tone of rapping ... Like, its so cool. Him just rolling around on the ground in his expensive clothes telling kids to look cool and showing them how to casually throw suitcases around.
youngbae is the best teacher! 😘he strategized their mistakes and told them to play their instruments in the beginning. Told them best advice! He complimented on them and taught them valuable things that they now probably still follow up to. Now I understand why he won every time there was a battle between he and GD. His concept was better than GD's cuz Jinyong was like do this lazy look and Taeyang was like timing is important, every visual of your movements should be sharp, but flow with the rhythm, and singing must speak out to the audience. Most importantly, he knows how to have fun! 👏👏🎤 Before they were just like them, in the very same spot, now very successful and teaching the kids. my talented sunshine ☀❤
nu cucumber_7 :c skrrskrr team b was already good so they didn’t need much coaching in this but gd is very critical and speaks his mind too. To me gd is he best teacher even to the bigbang members they made it because of him as leaders
I love how relaxed they are before the concert, like GD's just lounging there as if there is no concert, but he pulls a killer performance. It's like Taeyang, GD, and TOP love their sunglasses. :P

Wooow watching this again, you can really see the specialities and level of talent Taeyang and GD have in the field. And I can almost see how, with the battles between Taeyang and GD, Taeyang always won. He was really good at pinpointing the main problem in Team A and correcting it in such a straightforward way. I can see how GD would be frustrated with competing with Taeyang lol. And it’s like it’s aided GD in really trying to step out of the box to be on top. How amazing. GD is still amazing and he has this really creative and spontaneous charm about him that puts him on a whole other spectrum of music. He’s great with individuality and his music style shows it too. And then looking at Taeyang, his original songs are composed of a lot of those “soft” or “gentle” vibes and that real R&B feel. Like it’s really music that you feel deep and quietly in the night kinda vibe. It’s more relaxed. It’s like his music and dances centre around portraying the feeling and lyrics of the song and then GD’s is loud and vibrant and energetic which is centred around the energy and beats.
I can’t really explain what I’m trying to get at but it really opens my eyes as to why BIGBANG was so amazing and such a great success in their days. They have such powerful artists together in one.
Then looking at WINNER and iKON now, we can see how GD’s mentor ship and Taeyang’s help them find their vibe and sound. YG really is a pro at what he does man.

I just wanted to appreciate the way he looks at his family, the loveable look in his eyes for his sister and that respectable spark for his mother. im watching this again and im just amazed when Mino said he's only seen Taeyang on the internet and now his collaboration with him brought us 'Fear' and it's still doing extremely well on the charts.

YG used this survival show to make more noise for winner's debut and pave the way for ikon's publicity and it turned out good. now we have both teams debuted.
