I think instead of going the full bar island route, it would look super cute to do a high top table and a few barstools for the side! It’s not necessarily a huge area to cook or present, but that gives you a spot to wait while hubby makes drinks at the counter 😋
The house looks so beautiful. I totally thought the new couch was a dark mustard yellow colour until hunter said the colour isn't being pulled correctly and it kinda showed a lighter colour for a min.. It all looks amazing together!!!!!!!!! You guys have GREAT style. :)
OMG! The room looks so good! I wasn’t sure about the sofa at first but now I love it. And the new dining table is perfection! But my fave is THE RUG! Never thought I would be into blues but I’m so feeling it! And when Hunter said “No I don’t want you to hurt yourself” when trying to shift the RH couch...swoon! 😍He’s a good one!
For the stairway going down you could hang a cool light and old photos / antique decor on the walls. Maybe even paint it a dark color.

Feels like you need something from the couch, It needs a friend, even just a little pillow friend☺️ or blanky!!! Same color and fluff, throw it across from the couch somewhere to tie it into the set up even more? That rug is way better and helps tie the couch in too. Great job guys🙌🏻

@@JuliaHunterHavens Also idk if you’re thinking about it but you want a brick feel starting from opening the basement door right? You can look into brick veneer or thin brick options - not too expensive. I work in architecture and we used it on a project for the exterior but I believe you can also do it on interior spaces. It’s more cost effective for that brick look ❤️

Hahah thank you! This always happens when you do something outside of what people expect. Everyone wants/expects you to get the cloud couch and go all white everything because that’s all they know and see everywhere else’s and they for some reason aren’t capable of seeing style in something different than what is popular at a current time. It’s comical to hunter and I!

I love the new furniture!!! I love how you went with a console table that was just wood by the staircase!!! When you showed the glass piece by the stairs, I envisioned future kids dropping stuff down the stairs. Two months after we moved into our house, our 5 yr old daughter dropped a little tikes chair down the stairs and put a hole in our glass front door!!! ( She is 31 now and I still remember that moment)!!!

i love the new rugs you chose. The dining table is mint! Here's a suggestion for your basement rec room' in the space where you talked about a pool table, place four club chairs with a round drink table in the middle. It should give you a club vibe with the bar. What do you think?
What about turning it into a exercise/gym room with a mirror wall?
Also. Many times they will have people over for drinks downstairs hanging out and playing darts or whatever. I feel like they won’t have a movie on as well. Like they will probably have sports on which will go with the vibe of a pool table and darts and bar. When they are watching a movie usually you like all the lights off anyway so you won’t even notice a pool table. It can still be multipurpose

I definitely get the amber interiors vibes you’re going for, but it’s starting to pull to grandma. There is almost too much vintage being thrown together. The couch is a bit too yellowy, maybe if it was two new creamy white plush chairs it would flow better.

I tend to agree that couch is cool it’s kind of vintage and hippie looking but it is really yellow and golden. I guess I’m used to the more natural oat wheat white colors.
Yes, you might be used to our old color palette and the color palette of every current blogger ❤️ ‘all white everything’ will slowly be outdated
I actually love the warmer cream of the vintage couch. Too much white and grey make a space feel cold to me. But good thing it’s all personal taste and it’s their home so they can fill it with things they love 🤷🏻♀️
@@JuliaHunterHavens I know you don’t need reassurance because your style is amazing, but coming from an interior designer I think you curation of vintage pieces is perfect and the yellow couch is EVERYTHING. All white everything is for sure on it’s way out and this yellow is becoming a neutral. I love how it’s pulling a little eclectic and feels so homey, it’s such a unique piece!

Downstairs move the table and the chairs into the area where you have a bar. And in the nook create a bench ara on each wall! Keep it simple.
So that way maybe, only maybe you can move the black piece behind the sofa and place a lovely lamp on it, creating an ambiance.

I picture a square coffee table or organic shaped one. Also, maybe having it big enough to almost line up with the end of the vintage sofa so it kinda fills in the large space in front of the fireplace. But truly, you all are doing such a great job omg

Watching your videos has gotten me so inspired to change things up at my house. I find that my style and what I gravitate towards changes so often, but somehow there seems to be a connective fiber strung within all the changes. That’s why I love seeing your space evolve but still you can tell there are bits and pieces of you both and it always feels authentic. I forgot if you said you were going to move the light above the dining room table somewhere else or not. I think you guys will pick something amazing out for the space but I kind of dig the grand feel of the chandelier - maybe if it just didn’t hang so low.
