I adore "Testing, Testing, 123". All of the different tricks the ponies tried are real, legitimate learning methods. Twilight learns in a traditional manner through reading and taking notes. I would assume she's also a strong auditory learner who can learn by listening to lectures. Applejack is a kinesthetic learner who learns through hands-on (or hooves-on in this case) experience. Fluttershy is a visual learner who learns by seeing things acted out in front of her. Pinkie Pie uses mnemonic songs. (The only reason I can name all the Presidents of the United States is because of the Animaniacs song!) Rarity is a less common, but still very effective, method. She learns by recontextualizing information into something relevant to her interests. In this case she learns history by putting it in context of what clothing was being worn for different events. And Rainbow is a multi-tasker. She learns best when she's not focusing too hard on the end goal and is able to let the information just soak in. The episode is a great representation for different learning styles and a great validation for people who need different types of supports to help them learn.
Lowkey love that Scoot went Dad mode when he heard some people in his chat don't eat lunch that often. Also I love how Testing, Testing, 1,2,3 actually teaches some important lore on the history of Equestria and the Wonderbolts. I actually really enjoyed seeing all the different methods and how they all found Rainbow's way eventually.
I love the fact that Rainbow Dash made a joke about Twilight getting taller, and we do see as the series and episodes progressed that Twilight slowly got taller than the other ponies. It is a minor detail, but one that I love them for including. She starts to get this curve in her neck as she gets taller.
What was very wrong about Rainbow and her test was blaming her own failures onto others. She may never get the knack about written tests, but having to handle them in action through everyday tasks can be effective.
Ahhhhh when Rainbow Dash realizes her mistake and wanted Fluttershy back and gave her that big hug was so adorable XD my most favorite ship it's so cute
Rainbow Dash's friends were helping her for her test, but she couldn't handle all the pressures. Pinkie Pie's rap song about the Wonderbolts was spot-on 🎵🎵🎵😫😫😫🔥🔥🔥
I can somewhat relate to Rainbowdash when it came to learning history… Trying to learn through study reading history books in school I barely learned squat. Then I started playing assassins creed which offered a visual interactive teaching experience through gameplay and I got to learn the vast history of each region and civilization leading up to America! It helped me appreciate the history behind how America was founded through the suffering and importance of historical impacts and all the people, something a recorded book won’t have
I like the test episode especially as someone who used to work with kids. It's nice to see a kid's show tell their audience 'everyone learns in different ways and it's just a matter of figuring out what works best for you'. I for one learn best when I study with music playing and it helps me focus!
"Trade Ya!" perfectly encapsulates RD's problem for the entire series - as the Element of Loyalty, she thinks first of herself whenever pushed, ignores everyone else's opinions, and only on the second thought she realizes that's a bad thing. And her every single episode is the same.
I don't know man, I can think of very great RD episodes. " Read it and Weep", " Wonderbolt Academy", " Rainbow Falls" and THAT season 5 episode that I'm not gonna name because he isn't there yet. They're all very different episodes that approach her character in different ways. I think the real issue is that there aren't enough episodes about loyalty and more about her ego which for me are separate things. You can have an ego and still be a loyal person. Rainbow Falls for me was especially interesting to me because it rose a really interesting question about being an Element of Loyalty. What do you do when you have more than one loyalty ? That happens to everyone, you're not loyal to just one thing. So what do you do when two of them clash against the other ? And the fear of betraying one side over the other that came with it.
@@nicolasgarant9124i totally agree with all your statements. 100% correct. it’s almost like a spectrum sometimes. rd is either EXTREMELY loyal or not at all. but then again, loyalty can be shown through a lot of things and rd shows loyalty to several different things, excluding her friends. imo, rd represents loyalty really well. and that may or may not be biased
No one should give you any grief for having a character that you relate to more than others. I'd say that's probably the case for most fans of this show and that's a big reason why it was able to resonate with such a large audience. If you vibe with Rainbow Dash's approach to life, no possible argument from anyone is going to change that. As for me, I ultimately vibe with a character you've encountered on Patreon that hasn't hit the RUclips circuit yet. Interestingly enough, while I relate to Starlight the most, Rarity is still my fave thanks in large part to Tabitha's top-shelf performance.
Fluttershy is my favorite voice actually. I feel like I'm going to be ok when she talks normally. I could sleep to her telling me stories or something.
And here we go again with Scoot giving us another mlp reaction vid! "Testing Testing 1, 2, 3" is a very unique Rainbow Dash episode in terms of journey to becoming a Wonderbolt, It was very interesting to learn about how the Wonderbolts were formed! And some of my favorite parts of the episode is when RD was making that stool squeak although to this day I still don't know what that part is a reference to, And of course everyone immediately loved "Rapping History of the Wonderbolts!" As for "Trade Ya" many people in the fandom consider it to be one of the worst episodes of season 4, Though I found some of the Mane 6's hijinks in the episode to be funny. Like all the stuff that RD and Fluttershy did just so RD could get her hands on a stupid first addition Daring Do book, Though trading Fluttershy for the book is without a doubt one of the worst things that RD had ever done, But at least she learned her lesson. And everything Pinkie Pie did to get Twilight's books traded was hilarious, Except for the part where she traumatized that filly with the broken quill. It was also funny to see Rarity and Applejack trying to outfriend each other by letting one or the other get what they want. Though I guess I somewhat find their situation to be understandable because it's like Rarity basically said, Since they couldn't both get what they wanted they both thought that at least one of them should get what they want, But they both knew that it wouldn't have been fair that way.
TESTING TESTING 123- THE EPISODE I RELATE SO MUCH TOO HHHHHH i am literally rainbow dash in this episode like. i'm so glad they made this episode. only problem is, while the message is perfect, watching this a few years ago I was annoyed cause it did not help me figure out what my own individual way of learning is lol... still trying to figure that out.
When I was younger, I actually bought the Looney Tunes comics. Closest thing to getting a new LT cartoon. Same with Ren & Stimpy, Simpsons, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Spider-Ham comics. Thankfully I got off the Sonic comics before falling into furry territory. You know, for a visual medium comics are heavily talky. I couldn't imagine Bugs saying that much in those word balloons.
And in this episode we again have a couple of references from videogames with a barely Kratos like pony and a mysterios twins in blue on the background from certain heavenly place...
People don't talk about Lauren Faust like they do about Rebecca Sugar because she bailed after one season. By season 2 she was only a consultant, and by season 3 she had left completely. She has a history of that. She left MLP to work on Wander over Yonder, which she quit after one season to work on DC Super Hero Girls, which she quit after one season to work on Kid Cosmic for one season.
With “testing testing 123” The whole thing with the spit wads, Twilights concerns about gain one in the eye may sound hyperbolic, but when you then stop and realize just how much of their eyes take up their faces suddenly a spit wad hitting the eye is a more realistic issue than you think. For trade Ya, if you look in the background, you will see two ponies of identical, light, blue coats, and dark brown manes, carrying around a birdcage. The thing that’s so important about it it’s actually a reference to BioShock infinite. Of these two characters throughout the game that keep showing up together, that are apparently supposed to be dimension versions of each other.
Testing Testing 123 is one of my favorite episodes, and it’s also one one the reasons I love Rainbow Dash. I have ASD, and school was always really difficult for me because I didn’t learn in the same way other kids did. In fact, if I didn’t have an IEP, I definitely would have flunked high school. Seeing Rainbow’s struggle in this episode made me feel really seen!
Pinkie’s study method probably would’ve worked best for me, that and the history of wonderbolts movie that RD mentioned. The were some other disabled ponies in the last Flim and Flam episode too, the miracle tonic one.
If you do more equestria girls song I recommend the song I’m on a Yacht Both catchy and hilarious Edit furthermore I think you could try • The Equestria girls theme song (full version • Invisible • true original And let it rain
RD is so relatable and the crazy and funny thing is that when I watched the episode, in the scene of 3:18 I wasn't paying attention at Twilight at all even tho I was interested in the lore because I got distracted with them making music lmao.
personally I collect the Wings of Fire series, and my english teacher recently bought me the last book I needed for the whole set!!! and he even got a hardcopy!!!!!!!!!
05:14 - MLP G4 got the lore! Pay attention! ;D 09:30 - Voice Actress/Their Character Tier List When? ;) 10:46 - Selective interests. Remember how RD hated reading? Now she does read, only she reads Adventure. Factual books? Boooorrriiiiing! 12:40 - "It's not the size that matters, it's how you use it." Now, granted, she could grab more air, and if she gets a good technique she could go very fast. The cheat, of course, is that she also does magic so she can also give herself a push. With that in mind, could the other princesses fly faster? 12:57 - As said, "Selective Interests". No doubt one could become a walking encyclopedia of one's favorite series (Star Trek, Star Wars, Warcraft, Indiana Jones, etc) but can't retain much about The French Revolution, Algebra, Geographic Location of some countries or their capitals, or what goes into making a web page (all the little tags), let alone programming. 16:12 - That almost sounds like lesson tapes for when you sleep. The alternative would be having a very entertaining and informative video on youtube that you can't help but watch multiple times. Ever heard of something called The History Of The Entire World... i guess? ;) I will say that this episode was a pretty good one. Even if I did not quite understand at first, it was something for everyone who struggled in school. The lesson being, everyone has their own way of studying. The two problems is that not everyone knows their way of studying, and the schools have a set form of how to teach. Third problem is that the teachers don't always follow that form, or don't actually know how to teach. But if one considers the teacher-to-student ratio (as well as budget), one can't cater a study program that meets each individual. There'd almost have to be one teacher per student that gets to know them, find their interest(s), and create a way for them to learn everything using the interest(s) as a theme. Or in this case, showing "The History Channel" while running on a treadmill. ;D Also, love seeing RD's less cocky side. 19:38 - RariJack shippers go nuts. XD 20:07 - _"Who's got my rusty horseshoe..."_ Apparently RD did, both in dream and reality. 22:10 - I was about to say... If the trader doesn't know the difference either, she _could_ potentially have lied and walked off with the vintage one. 22:41 - BEHOLD! A fan made OC in the show! All thanks to something called the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Kid suffering from an illness, fan of the show, and "won the lottery" as it were. 28:42 - Congrats Pinkie, you made Twilight even bigger of a book hoarder! She'll need to expand that tree library into a castle if she's gonna continue to collect books! 28:58 - Apparently pony trafficking is legal in Equestria... Or maybe there once was a law but long forgotten as ponies stopped doing it for a very long time...
Actually the MLP G4 comics are really good, They took better advantage of the villains much more than in the series, even digging into their past, I really loved Sombra's story and how he became who he is, even his return in the comics and all the cameos of other ponyfied characters from other franchises, whether from tv series, movies, anime or video games.
2:45 for the longest time as a kid I thought cafeterias were just mythical things in American movies! I've kinda always wanted to try out a school lunch, even if people complain about how bad they are lol
For your next mlp song reaction, I suggest you react to songs from "it's a pony kind of Christmas " . I think you will like rainbow dash's version of jingle bells
I wish school understood that not everyone learns the same way, im yet to figure out what way of studying is best for me because im not really doing so great 😭
I can't wait for the last episode! also I do a similar thing like you said you did as well as rainbow where youre walking around and you notice like what people are doing and stuff. I probably know more stuff about the people who I've never talked to before compared to the people I have talked to not including friends.
All RD said about noticing everything while flying is a total load of fertilizer considering how many times she smaked into trees, mountains and whatever else by NOT paying any attention :3
The first episode with Rainbow perfectly represents the hyperactive impulsive ADHD type. Like, PERFECTLY. Who else with the diagnosis feels like they were represented? Be honest. The inability to focus, mood swings, being too hard on herself when she makes a small mistake, fidgeting, etc. really seems like ADHD to me. 😊
Listen ik ppl don't have to agree with me an that's perfectly fine but I think Rd doesn't represent her element as much as the others like bro she literally traded FLUTTERGUY that's insane. I have a few reasons why I think aj and Rd should swap elements but ik not everyone agrees
By accident, without paying attention. The second she realize "wait a minute I traded Fluttershy" she did everything possible to get her back. It was dumb to not pay attention and be like "yeah yeah, whatever", she could have been saying that to anything (like $1 million dollars), but she didn't do it on purpose.
@@theAstarrr yeah everyone feels different abt it, I just think rd would be better suitable for the honest element especially considering how loyal aj is to he friends and family (and strangers lol)
I completely agree with you. Too many people try and excuse the things she does, like trading fluttershy cause she "wasn't paying attention" but for the element of loyalty, I know everybody else in that group would have atleast hesitated. Took her MILLISECONDS. Not to mention all the other moments in the show where she doesn't show loyalty until she starts feeling guilty. I was kind of sad it took the show so long to actually show her accurately representing her element because by the time they did, I couldn't stand her 😭😭
@@Nicky-mz1co right it's not that she wasn't paying attention bc she knows what she did but she did later come to regret it. I think the rest of them are very true to their elements even applejack is more an "honest apple" than rainbow is loyal😭 she just is for specific episodes abt her loyalty yk? But ofc I'm not gonna make everypony think the way I do
@@Nicky-mz1co you can argue what you want about her actions in other episodes (the writing is terribly inconsistent, and it's always Rarity, Rainbow, and Twilight shown as the most selfish/flawed ones, which sucks imo, everyone deals with selfishness, but we hardly see it for the others at all), but it's clear that Rainbow wasn't listening at all here. Who expects someone to ask for a servant? Rainbow would have said yes no matter what the lady said. Plus, she immediately regrets the trade once her brain processed what happened. No one told her - "Look what you did", she did that on her own, this episode.
You Know that she didn't do it on purpose, right? like she didn't say "sure i would like to trade fluttershy for The book" she was just distracted. Sure it was a dumb thing to do but she immediatly regretted it and felt bad and fixed her mistake
Hey scoot.I don't like Lauren Faust anymore cause she made a remake of one of my favorite shows,DC superhero girls and ruined it.The remake of the show just ruins the whole point and aspect of the show so I just don't like her.
@@maio0077i get that yeah, but also at the same time i think sometimes, not always but sometimes they miss context and big information because they are talking over the audio, not that they don't have the right to talk cause it's their channels i just feel like they'll miss out on something big or important😅😅
I adore "Testing, Testing, 123". All of the different tricks the ponies tried are real, legitimate learning methods. Twilight learns in a traditional manner through reading and taking notes. I wonder if any of these methods could've helped me, such a shame I didn't watch this show years ago.

2:45 for the longest time as a kid I thought cafeterias were just mythical things in American movies! I've kinda always wanted to try out a school lunch, even if people complain about how bad they are lol
i collect rocks, shells, and 4-leaf clovers
I love the trading EP it's so fun but I also love all the appledash moments lmao they both want some stupid shit, I want a discord lamp
Yessss , " days, weeks, months, years, decades "😭😭😭
For your next mlp song reaction, I suggest you react to songs from "it's a pony kind of Christmas " . I think you will like rainbow dash's version of jingle bells
Sooo excited to see you react to the finale
I wish school understood that not everyone learns the same way, im yet to figure out what way of studying is best for me because im not really doing so great 😭
I can't wait for the last episode! also I do a similar thing like you said you did as well as rainbow where youre walking around and you notice like what people are doing and stuff. I probably know more stuff about the people who I've never talked to before compared to the people I have talked to not including friends.
Excited for season's finale
This episode made me like rainbow more. She has Hella ADHD like me
All RD said about noticing everything while flying is a total load of fertilizer considering how many times she smaked into trees, mountains and whatever else by NOT paying any attention :3
Well, as far as I can remember her smacking into things mostly happens when something occurs to distract her. Also it depends on the Rule of Funny.
lol, Just realized Foreshadowing for 7th season
I cant wait for the reaction of MLP Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks! 😄
Can’t wait for season five there is an episode where you can finally not hate diamond Tiana

Mlp love ❤🎉
Wiki wiki!!!!
3:12 13:47 19:14

An episode where school kids learns how to actually study... The opposite of what i do
Day 4 of liking my own comment till I don't have too
Please watch the Scott Pilgrim anime
Hey
DuckTales
i think rainbow has ADHD
ughh i absolutely HATE “trade ya”. it shows rd in such a bad light oh my gosh. the writers really did her dirty here.
Hi ❤
this was such a Rainbow L episode. literally traded her friend for a book...
You Know that she didn't do it on purpose, right? like she didn't say "sure i would like to trade fluttershy for The book" she was just distracted. Sure it was a dumb thing to do but she immediatly regretted it and felt bad and fixed her mistake
IM EARLY??
Hey scoot.I don't like Lauren Faust anymore cause she made a remake of one of my favorite shows,DC superhero girls and ruined it.The remake of the show just ruins the whole point and aspect of the show so I just don't like her.
Is it just me or you start to talk waaaay too much when episodes still goes?
I think this is a good thing, him talking so much is a form of analysis and I love his analyzes
@@maio0077i get that yeah, but also at the same time i think sometimes, not always but sometimes they miss context and big information because they are talking over the audio, not that they don't have the right to talk cause it's their channels i just feel like they'll miss out on something big or important😅😅
