It’s really not that bad no. The tank basically runs itself. I do a water change on the salt tank once a month, whereas the 300 cichlid tank I don’t do any maintenance basically.
Beautiful tank, even better sump!! One question, if you leave the filter floss in the bottom of the baffle area too long, wouldn't that potentially block the flow if you forgot to replace it?
Thanks! It would block the flow yes, but would not overflow the sump. It is designed to overflow that specific baffle and simply overflow into the next compartment. It would take quite a while for it to get to that point, will probably be at least a months worth of build up to do that if not longer.

Omg 😆 I love how he just has a damsel in the sump and calls it the penalty box that’s to good my damsel didn’t even make it to the penalty box he got suspended from the team for all time they are really nasty to bad cause they have a wicked blue to them mine looked like two almost he like reflected his self on my eyes he was so bright

Regal Angel and a Flame Angel get my vote! looks great!
I’ve had both, actually my flame Angel just died about a month ago after having it for about six years. The Regals are not hardy at all.

Why did you decide to go with an algae scrubber instead of a refugium with chaeto?
I’ve done the refugium and chaeto in the past, wanted to try something different.

No fuge, just left over rock sitting in there. To be replaced with marine pure blocks today actually.
