It’s been a while since I’ve been able to go after catfish! but Lord willing I’m going soon! Have fun! By the way your bucket video was hilarious!

And how you ended up quitting your job and doing what you do your passion fishing for a job. And then you passed up these other guys and now you're at the top of the mountain. These guys are hating on you so bad and so jealous of you that they're using your videos to make money off of you like I said the one video was called outdoors something and I seen where they had numerous videos about you I think I'm going to report that channel and tell them that these people are putting false information and making money off of your channel which is BS. You know Dave you must be doing something right brother because whenever you got people like this that are hating on you you're doing something right your producing great videos and people like you as a person so don't let these guys get you upset or cause you to stop producing these great videos that you're making. He`ll be the real hero when he lands one over 100 again biggest I`ve seen was 150 out of the Ohio river that was in Field&Steam mag. Some guy named Yuri Gursliv caught a channel cat over in Europe that went 275 the whole catch is on You Tube 8 ft long
@James Cannon I’m not Dave but I’d recommend atleast 30lb mono. I’ve caught a lot of cats over 35lbs up to 55lbs on it without a problem. If you want to use braid get a lot heavy lb line. You can hook the fish easier in strong current because there little to no stretch but can be cut off pretty easy by a rock/junk on the bottom. I used to use braid but stopped because I fish nasty areas with a lot of rock and junk that’s cut me off one to many times. Anything you choose tho will work it all comes to preference. I’ve tried a lot of different types of line/ line lb and I always come back to 30lb mono.
well catfish Dave you did the experimenting with different types of bait I think I need to do the same down here and kind of experiment with different things I tried chicken last year I done pretty good not not no big catfish I did delivers I tried cut bait and it seemed that they preferred the livers over everything else but now that was just back up in a cold so don't know how the open Waters would be but I will find out this year how the experimenting with different baits will be thank you for the video you keep making them I'll still keep watching them
I tried to become Flathead Frank. I decided that Channel Catfish & Drum are good enough for me. Maybe, I'll fish for Flatheads(live bait or cut if I don't have live) or Carp(corn) on 1 pole, Channel Cats(shrimp or cut bait) on a 2nd & Drum & Channels(crawlers)on a 3rd. We have the Blues in Michigan, because Blue Catfish don't live here.

Michigan just set a new record for flathead catfish last week of 53 lbs. Pretty sure I have seen Dave catch and release larger ones

Dave, have you ever tried using hotdogs for bait?
I use hot dogs with cheese in them and wrap them in foil and put them in the oven for 10 minutes at 350 to harden them up a little .

Poke holes in the bottom of your chum bucket tie it to a rope and get multiple uses out of each filling

All the way down to most grocery stores. I used to buy frozen 1lb boxes of it for shark bait. Stays on the hook great!
