Dear Sally, SO WONDERFUL AS ALWAYS!!!!! Thank you for my favourite Chopin's Waltz and for an excellent performance, I've added this great video to my public playlists called "My Favourite Classical Music" and "Sally Christian", again my warm greetings from Poland to San Francisco, have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2022. Joanna
Hello Joanna, thank you for your kind and enthusiastic words, and for adding this video to your public playlists! I send warm greetings to you from San Francisco to Poland, and wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2022 as well!
I always find your videos inspiring. I started playing 5 years ago (at 29) and I’ve learned and memorized a couple preludes from WTC. Seeing you memorize and learn a piece like this stokes a fire in me for the journey ahead. I have so much to learn, but this video also reminds me to enjoy and embrace the adventure of learning a piece of music. There is a comfort in knowing that through dedication we will eventually triumph, such as you have done.
Hello Michael, thank you for your thoughtful, insightful, and meaningful words! I so appreciate hearing that the videos are inspiring and motivating for you and your journey ahead. You are absolutely right that learning a piece is an adventure to be enjoyed and embraced. For me, every day of practice and dedication to the music is a precious gift. Eventually playing a piece well for memory with freedom and joy is one of life's most rewarding experiences. I wish you every joy with your musical journey and commitment to this great music! 🌟
Hellp pianoforte17xx, What a kind and wonderful thing to say, .... thank you so much! I also appreciate your enthusiasm for the Chopin and Bach performances. You are welcome, it is my pleasure. Very best wishes to you and with your playing.
I was just watching your legendary lessons on some Rachmaninoff preludes yesterday, and now I'm blessed with this! I'm so appreciative that you continue to make exquisite performances and tutorials for over a decade.
Hello Adam, thank you for your thoughtful, gracious, and very meaningful comment! I deeply appreciate your words regarding over a decade of making teaching and performance videos. This is my life's work, and your acknowledgement is a gift I will always treasure. 🙏 With all best wishes to you and with your music.
Hello Robert, thank you for your very warm words and applause! I can feel your enthusiasm! 🎉You are welcome, it is my pleasure. 🌼 Best wishes to you and your family for a Happy Holidays!
Hello Tzvi, thank you for your kind and appreciated words! It's always nice to hear from you, and I wish you all the best with your beautiful playing. 🌺
Such wondrous tonal and rhythmic light and shade. Your performance raises spirits helping us to feel all’s well when there remains your talent to bring joy, inviting us to the dance. 👏🏻
Hello Stephen, once again you have taken my breath away with your beautiful comment! Thank you! I am also smiling as I read your prescient words about inviting us to the dance. As you will soon see, I say these very words in the beginning section of the lesson! 🎉 With all best wishes to you and with your playing.
Something told me to check my subscriptions. So glad I listened. What a joyous performance I felt as if I went through the score with you. So many voices! Thank you sally
Hi Gina, wow, thank you for your beautiful and wonderful words! I really appreciate you saying this was a joyous performance. All last year as I worked on it every day, I always felt so energized playing it. It really is "Happiness, Happiness" (Chapter 19 from the Casimir Wierzynski book). I'm glad you heard all the voices. I go over these in detail in the lesson that will be coming next. This would be a great piece for you! 🌺
Hello Susan, thank you for your wonderful words and suggestion for the Berceuse! Yes, the Berceuse is a gorgeous piece. I think it also shows how Chopin might have improvised. :-) Best wishes to you.
@@SallyChristianMusic I heard the Berceuse for the first time in early September. I completely fell in love with it and ordered the music. I now have it memorized and I am enjoying playing it and trying to make it perfect. Happy holidays to you.
@@susanweber581 Hi Susan, this sounds wonderful! There is nothing quite like falling in love with a piece, taking the time to learn it, ... and succeeding! Congratulations to you for this achievement! 🎉 Happy Holidays & a Happy New Year 2022 to you.
That was a fun ride, Sally! Your fingering is so elegant. I am looking forward to the teaching video. I love listening to Chopin but he is fearfully difficult to play. Thanks for mastering and memorizing (egads!) this one!
Hi Roger, thank you for your generous and thoughtful words! Yes, this piece is really a fun one to play, although it did take over a year to learn and memorize. I'm glad you noticed the fingerings, too. :-) This waltz was a joy to learn, and in the process, became a "friend." Thank you for your kind words of anticipation for the teaching video which is coming soon. I hope this finds you well, and making good progress with your practicing! 🌸
Outstanding! Thrilling to listen and watch. Always a pleasure to see you play the “unplayable “ for me. However I am in pretty good control of the Bach chaconne for left hand alone. Brahms trans. Hats off to you and applause applause 👏
Hello Josh, thank you so much for your wonderful and generous comment! I appreciate and can feel your enthusiasm! 🎉 Congratulations on playing the Bach- Brahms Chaconne. I wish you every joy in communing and immersing yourself with this magnificent work.
Hello musicalintentions / James, thank you for your great comment! Once again, you have shared some important insights about the character of the music. I was wondering the same thing as I was learning the piece and also making the chart Color Structural Analysis. In measures 113-128, Chopin's harmonies sound mysteriously Spanish. I grouped and labeled these measures as a distinct section. I think you will appreciate this part of the lesson, which is coming soon. With all best wishes to you and with your music!🌹
Dear Sally, you know how much I respect you as a pianist, but this performance seemed interesting to me, but I would say a little too nervous, tense. Oh my God, I have to confess, I only listen to Chopin's masterpieces by our compatriot A.B. Michelangeli (obviously on vinyl), so forgive me this very humble opinion. I respect you a greeting
Hi, Sally. Happy New Year, and a good week. Thank you for your video.🎉.❤.

I was just listening to his nocturne op. 32 no. 2 in a-flat and I was too excited and read the title too fast. This piece is also wonderful though
I wonder if Chopin ever took a trip to the Iberian peninsula. 😊
