Nowadays you can make that die with a wire cutter using spark erosion. In the old days of engineering, the product was more complicated that the tool, but these days the tool is far more complex than the product! The art is in the tool and not in the product, all artists should be aware that beautiful art now exists in the tool and not in their product.This morning I dismantled a damaged electronic clock with an alarm, which my wife threw away.The very small synchronous motor which drives the gear train where the first gear had flexible teeth for silence, was awesome. When I looked at it, I felt an inferiority complex as my eighty years of engineering was the type that I could handle with my fingers. Now micro-engineering is more that art and engineering combined.
I have to agree with you..I repair many tools that produce plastic bottles. I repair aluminium and steel dies... I use a laser welder and have the ability to weld inside the eye of a needle. Your old enough to know what a Thou is...well I can weld up to a sharp edge and stay 3 thou away from the edge. I have a niche business within a niche business. Onya Mate
I would like to see the pointer make that point. Would the collapsed point help to sharpen corners into die would they use a plug to sharpen corners ??. How do you get plug in?? Easy job with light tube

It is just what you can see: a round hole on one side that merges into a rectangular hole on the other. The chain-drive just drags the metal through and it changes shape.

Tool maker from Detroit says cold forming. Hot forming and extrusion is an art that goes back more than 100 years. Candy is also made this way. Happy Halloween. :-).

Now the question is ‘seemless round tube’?
When round tubing is made they push it thru an extruder.
I believe the process is called cold forming. That's where they push the steel at room temperature through a die and forms it the way they want it to be formed. Apparently, you get a better tensile strength out of it then you would if you were to heat it and then form it. They also make a lot of screws and bolts and such through that process of cold forming.
Round is not the only extruded all shapes are. But it's cold rolled or hot rolled. One leaves a skin with a nice finish, the other is a bit more ruff but harder. Extrusion is to give stock a uniform measurement for different and commonly used materials of all types and/or sizes.

At that speed any flying metal will take about 3 minutes to reach their eyes, long enough for them to dodge it matrix style.

And, the fact that the tube is indeed rectangular, and not a square at all.

Then you need to look up the definitions of grammar....yes, pay attention to how there isn't just one definition and the word grammar also includes the definition of how words are used in a sentence, and so yes you were correcting grammar whereby the uploader used the wrong word.
Please also pay attention to how my comment is ended with a smiley/wink face and so no, you're correction never even came close to getting my undies in a bunch...the clear point to my comment is obviously, simply, calmly and politely that you gotta watch correcting another person's grammar, spelling, punctuation, OR WHATEVER when you can't even spell the word that you're using to correct them with.... not how you said "rectangeler" but is rectangular as jujitsuman68 had vulgarly pointed out
