I totally understand you. I think a lot of us go through this. We do a few weeks in a spread and we're like this is it and then we get bored or unmotivated. I have always been a one planner ...heck one notebook sort of person ....but this year I have a graveyard of planners. I have been through at least 13 different planners so far lol I went back to basics. I got out my old a6 rings with inserts and what do you know it worked. I realized that I'm a pen and paper only planner but I love stickers and have so much of them that I kept trying to find a way to do both and it just isn't working. Also I like having a work section but I dont need a work planner. So I decided to keep my work/to do with pen and paper only and do memory keeping with pictures and stickers markers etc and so far it's working. It's true what they say at least for me once you find your planning style it's easier to find the planner for you.

Girl….sterling ink is putting out a standard size with the Hobonichi weeks style layout and 121 blank pages just perfect for day to day and then on occasion memory planning! 🩵🩵

Sterling Ink sells standard size notebooks with Sanzen Tomoe River Paper! You can get what you'd like without the extra cost of cutting down, if you'd like. I'm all for cutting down, though, especially if you're pulling from your stash (I need to do that too!)
Your whole attitude made me feel validated - last year my planning was so locked down, and this year I can't stay in one planner for more than a couple months - it's a frustrating feeling, but now I feel better about it.

I have a Hobonichi Cousin English version and it works great for me. I turned the daily section into a bullet journal style. But next year I am changing. The reason why I am going to the Wonderland222 is because the months and weeks are grouped together. This will help me with my budgeting for each month. I will also turn my dailies as a bullet journal as I tend to track quite a few things and also have collections.
That makes absolute sense! I love the fact that Wonderland 222 has the monthly and weeks grouped together as well! I love that the A5 version has the wider columns as opposed to the Hobonichi… W222 is definitely a contender for me for next year also! I have an undated version that i will try out before the year is up🤩🙌

I definitely have been building my collection for sometime! If you are wanting to use and purchase more stickers, I definitely recommend the Happy Planner sticker books! You can buy them when they are on sale at craft stores, or even online and you get way more bang for your buck👍😁

I am glad I am not the only one who goes back and forth with different ones trying them out. I look at Happy Planners and think I like the ability to add and remove pages, but like you and the spiral the discs get in the way and though you can take pages out and add them back in, that can be a pain. The same thing with the 6 rings in many A5 planners, though I feel like I would like having the cover. I feel like I would like a TN and have made a couple covers and inserts but then wonder if I want to add pages, blah blah blah…. Lol. The classic HP is kind of too big, the mini too small but then maybe an A5 is too small? I don’t know!! I do know I don’t like to have to draw the pages every week like the bullet journal style. I do really like to decorate though! Maybe I will try the horizontal week on one side and blank on the right in a blank notebook and see if I like that. Like you I don’t have a ton to write out and have someplace else I keep what happened each day so don’t need a ton of room.
These planner companies are only making it even harder for us! All the options now, and I still feel like I can’t find one that has everything I want and need🙈🙈🙈lol So then I just need to have multiple planners so that I can cater to my crazy needs😂 I get what you mean though! I love to be able to change layouts and decorate how I want in a blank notebook but I’m already annoyed with having to draw out a layout each week… the hunt must continue…😝 But you should try the Hobonichi Weeks layout, even if you make it in a plain notebook, it’s a great layout if you don’t have much going on🙌 Thank you so much for watching and commenting, and reminding me that I’m not alone in this crisis 🤣💕

37:28 just divide the week in quarters, so you have it monday-thirsday on the 1st top row and Thursday-Saturday on the lower 2nd row

I love one book july. Im using an A5 Leuchtturm but I know most hate it.
I wonder if you would like aura estelle or sterling ink planner? They have both undated and dated in several sizes. But it seems like you like the B6 Stalogy. I’ve also seen people take an A5 Stalogy to cut down to standard size.
This is my first ever ONEBOOKJULY 🤩 we shall see how it goes 🙌 I actually LOVE Leuchtturm! I used to bullet journal and that was definitely a favorite 😁 I tried Aura Estelle~the paper is a little too see-through in my opinion but the layouts are great! I preordered a Sterling Ink planner, I love that she made a Hobo Weeks layout in standard size!🤩 B6 is such a great size though, great for every day carry, not as tiny as the Hobo Weeks but not so ginormous as the A5 if I want to throw it in my purse😁

Regarding the moleskine planner: I’ve used one every year for the past decade and found that staedtler pens work. I bought mine for 2023/24 and my staedtler pens bleed through. I’ve found that Sarasa pens work with this paper, but idk if it’s just that they’re using different paper now, or I used to buy hard cover planners and bought a soft cover this year? No idea, but long story short, I understand what you mean about the paper. ❤

I just moved into a B6 stalogy, (5th or10th move this year) 😂 I have it in a naya paperie cover which I'm currently in love with, I'm going to try really hard to stick to it but I'm already thinking of adding rings to it 😅

There is a special place in my heart for B6 Stalogy😍 it was the first notebook that I ever finished/completed, I love and prefer the grid in B6 as opposed to the A5, and B6 size is so portable!🙌 Love that paper also🙏 It’s comforting to know that we are not alone, a lot of people are switching planners and changing their minds like changing lanes while driving- back and forth back and forth 🤣😁
@ashleydcarlson I've tried a b6 a couple of times but couldn't get into it, this time is different I can personalise what I need for the month as opposed to having sections I don't need and it getting wasted I have a A5 stalogy as a general note book thow so my b6 lasts longer and my a5 stalogy is more a scribble book whereas my b6 is meticulous xx

@@ashleydcarlson I know why because I wanted to make my own planner for one month: because it takes up much fewer pages!! Because with non-shared weekend, it would take 10 more pages in total!!!!! Then they would need to change the binding because the 2 staples would not be able to hold thatany pages!
I definitely understand that it will take more papers but their petite planners have a really sturdy sewn binding! I know because I removed the threads from one before 😂

It’s so funny, I used to be a “coil only”planner… but I don’t even really know why!? 😂 I think back then I knew nothing about book bound, planners, and Erin Condren and Happy Planner is all I knew🤷♀️. Now that I have experienced how great life can be without a freaking coil in my way, trying to go back is like “Nooooo!”🙅♀️🚫😭😝😂
I'm always curious how the show-though from the previous page with the Tomoe River paper works for people, as the Moleskine paper issue is obvious, but the hobonichi paper looks like it has as much show thru, but no bleed thru. Is is a problem for you?
I’ll admit, it took some getting used to! I was used to Erin Condren paper, so that was definitely a 180😆 The best way I can explain it is just like you said, there is no bleed through~there is shadowing which just doesn’t show up enough to bother me personally. After you flip a page and start writing on the back, the shadowing and new writing just magically blend together! I forget that there’s even writing on the other side😍
Girl! So I have been planning in an Erin Condren vertical (mostly) for so long….since 2015. And I’m trying to break up with it but I feel guilty. I keep going back to it and saying but but…I’ve always planned in one. How can I replace it with the Commonplanner…like something about the color and the coil and the size makes me so happy to flip back to it. I do NOT get joy from flipping back in my bound notebooks. They seem more like messy scrap paper even though they do hold memories. And that toothy Mohawk paper and the smell. Idk, I gave into the planner hype and trends. In reality, I still love my EC vertical. Sighhhhh
Omg, I understand this TOO WELL! I’ve also been using an Erin Condren vertical since around 2016, 2017… I love the vertical(1.5 inch columns), the colors, I LOVE THE PAPER-the smell everything 😍🙌 I still use it to this day! It’s my main squeeze😂 I use it to pre-plan, keep track of Birthdays, House stuff, etc. But the coil is driving me nuts! Also, their themes lately just aren’t bringing me joy like they used to😭 EC is just very nostalgic for me too, so it’s going to be sad but I’m ready to let it go. It sounds like you are not ready to let it go and that’s okay!!! If EC planner lights you up then I would continue to use it! I was in exactly your spot last year, I bought my regular EC vertical and Hobonichi Cousin and tried using the cousin for a month , nope ~hated it! So then I just went right into my good ole EC again🤩🙌 I continued to use the Hobonichi for memory planning and LOVED it! Now when I flip through those pages, my heart is so happy! We don’t have to use any kind of planner if it isn’t bringing us joy, no matter WHAT is trending🙏😁
@@ashleydcarlson yes!! It’s mostly the guilt lol. Every day I wanna put my pen to the paper and stare at my weekly boxes and lay down stickers. But the Commonplanner has been thoroughly used and is soooo functional and kept me consistent for 7 months, something EC never really did. I was always changing layouts hahahaha hourly then horizontal lol. Glad to see someone else in my situation so I don’t have to feel so alone and a bit crazyyy lol. I am so sad I cant do one book july as i will be in India for the whole month. I think vertical weekly is strong in your list. Even for me goals Commit 30 didnt work. Passion planner has always worked for my goals. I probably will do the same kind of analysis for next year in Sept

This will be my first time, I’m nervous and excited so we shall see what happens 😜 I definitely love my vertical spreads, but I also like trying different layouts every now and then. Commit30 is such a nice planner, so is Passion Planner. I’m hoping this experiment will help me learn what’s important for me in my planning system or maybe I’m just a mad planner hopper 😂😂😂
