It’s great to listen to Keegan speak in German so freely. More English speakers should learn another language no matter what job they do. Old Roy Hodgson can bang away with at least 5 of them. So that’s not too bad.
Why should English speaking people learn another language no matter what job they do? Time is precious. Only worth doing out of necessity or personal interest.

As an Englishmen I love KK. It's so nice to see that he went over to Germany and made an effort to learn the language, and still after all that time he still manages to go back and conduct an interview in German athough basic....
When I was a kid Kevin Keegan was England Captain and the face for English football. Even though he never played for my club - West Ham United - he was one of my footballing heroes. He was/is a great player, manager and ambassador for the game. And his passion for the game has never diminished.

I didn't know Kevin was able to speak German, he amazes me as much as Klopp when he speaks English in press conferences. Furthermore, the only German word I know is "Sitzplinker", which means "a man who pees sitting down" LOL.
You mean you don't know nein and ja? I'm think as a brick and even I know those. I also used to be able to say my name is Darren and I am 25 years old, only it's now 26 years out of date and so nobody believes me anymore. Although I do like to kid myself on good hair days.
What accent is Kevin speaking German in. Sounds like a gentle Hanover accent? (I ask, as Lenin spoke fluent English with a soft Irish accent. As he was taught English by teachers from Ireland)
@@staceygrove5976 the strength of the 'ch' sound, I guess would depend on the German dialect he is speaking? I'm learning Cymraeg/Welsh. Some Cymru regions say hard 'ch', other use a softer 'ch'. I use the softer 'ch' as the harder one hurts my throat

As a Welshman and a Liverpool fan I agree ..Great guy and an inspiration to all

Didn't understand a word but bet it was all from his heart! KK was emotional and would tell it straight.

He doesn't do the -ch sound very well (as in 'ich'). His German is probably a bit better than Trapattoni's though!
