- On today's Los Angeles day trip, we went to Big Bear Lake. We did a day trip, but lots of people stay overnight, really depends on your preference and availability. Today we toured the Big Bear Village and explore the shops. There are a lot of restaurants and very unique gift shops in the village/mall area. We played in the semi-frozen lake, drank coffee, ate at local ice cream shop (in winter!), had jerky strange meat jerky, walk around, and explore the array of very interesting gift shops.
For overnight stays, there are a lot of accommodation nearby. You can stay at inns, rent cabins, or book Airbnb. It’s nice to stay in and have breakfast at cabin. Very cozy. There are also outdoor winter activities like ski and sledding. We didn’t do it on this trip but there are tons of paid places. If you’re lucky, you can find free places for sledding.
A little info: There is no entry fee, no parking fee into the village. Paid activities are available around the village area. Public restrooms are available in the village/mall area.

Gelato and coffee? Cold and hot ? Wowww
So good!! 😄😄
Did you make it to Stupidiotic? That's my favorite gift shop up there. Lots of weird gag gifts.
Glad you didn't really try walking on that thin ice.
O man missed that on this trip! Thx for the insight! 🙂🙂 If we fell into the water would've been hilarious tho
I wonder if there’s a time of the year where the ice is thick enough for us to actually walk on the lake.
Google says it's illegal and unsafe but we wonder the same 🤔🤔
