When I was 8 years old (a long time ago), some organization brought us Christmas in a black garbage bag. They were filled and puffed out with gifts for us three siblings. To this day it makes me cry thinking about it. It is my best childhood Christmas memory.
Churches here in the USA do this a lot. We've done it many times. If you want to, you can also deliver the gifts (some people do, some do not). You two are around the age of my eldest daughter and her husband. I subscribed earlier when some of the heavy stuff was happening when you were still in Canada. It's heart warming seeing you two just filling your lives with joy and love. We should all be so oriented all the time. I want you to be able to extend this tradition for many many many years! Props, apparently is short for "proper dues", and "kudos" comes from a Greek word for praise :-) Kudos and props to you two - you're proper praiseworthy and great 🫶🏻🫶🏻
lol that’s funny. I’m Dutch but I hear/read those words quite often over here. Or I might have picked it up when reading lots of comments and stuff in English on Facebook and RUclips, I’m not even sure. But ‘street/youth language’ over here is half English nowadays anyway.

Magnetic Tiles are new to me too, I guess they are becoming very popular worldwide. I’m in the US and just learned about them. I try to get a tag too every year and donate to an animal shelter. It’s a great thing to do!😊❤😊

In the States, many churches do this. You might call around to local churches and ask if any of them are running an "angel tree" this year. The trees typically have kids or adults who are struggling in some way, including elderly folks.

We had a 'wish/gift' tree at work, organised by a charity. I got two tags and bought two presents as requested. Some people were wishing for simple things, like a set of bed linen, a blanket, sleeping bag, toiletries... So sad, the realization that some people struggle with basic things while some others indulge in luxuries. Unfortunately, this IS our world, the inequality is staggering
