It is a beauty, a swinging and hard driving piece of good jazz playing and tradition of the BEAT. Gene and T and the boys, Bravo, again...
This is worth more than 1600 views, This album has been on my permanent play list for around 30years
Same here :-) (Probably one of my desert Island discs if I had to choose)
I can see why. It's amazing.
At 86 years and loving the grooving , there is nothing better. Amen! Amen!!!!
Amen
I used to play this tune all the time and played along on tenor. I got to where I could play the whole solo note for note although I liked to improvise a lot. But I was always whipped after five choruses. Mr T was the best!
Gene Harris is one of the most distinctive Jazz pianists of all time...and he and saxophonist Stanley Turrentine wear this out. I play this one all the time.
He was brought to the attention of Blue Note records by Horace Silver. They were originally based in Benton Harbor, MI.
He was then brought back out of semi-retirement from Boise, ID by Ray Brown to tour with his trio.
Some of the best music I've ever played or
my fav!!!!!!!!!! mr. t rocked !!!!!!!!!
