Fai won the development league tourney. That info likely leaked out, and someone specced into it. The build that won may have used them.

My theory is that someone found out that Bryan was on Fai in the LSS internal meta and they bought out the cards thinking that players would follow suit...
The rumor I heard was the ash material that we got for Dromai would be for a draconic hero and everyone just assumed it was Fai because Dromai LL'd but it wasn't the case.
In the OK&Y Podcast, in their 337 episode at the 24 minute mark, they basically talk about that and they mention who bought it and why.
TL;DR is the guy who did the buyout was really disconnected from the game and just thought that Fai was getting a card

i think it was that by the time the reveal was coming, it was known to be a draconic card. but didnt expect the dromai card/miragai dust
Could have been that random people gamled, others saw th price increase and assumed someone knew soemthing and it spiraled from there.
Related, I saw a lot more interest in the CF eleoquence token before the Vynnset spoiler. But most of those sales happen on FB and discord, so it is harder to track.
I thought it might have had something to do with Mara doing her spoiler teasers in the Volcor language leading some to think that her spoiler might be draconic.
