I'm supporting this with a pledge for the Neo Geo collector version. Please support Neofid Studio's campaign of this awesome conversion. A second player character will be added.
I may get the GBA version but that depends; how's the music on both versions? The same? If so, then GBA for me. If it sounds way better on Neo Geo, i'll get that one.
I really like how well each version utilizes their system’s unique characteristics in both graphics and sound. They’re equally amazing and masterfully executed! 👏
Yeah, in the GBA version they've added much more colour, proper transparency effects, better lighting effects, nicer looking water, I think extra background layers in some places for more parallax, actual sprite and background rotation, proper overlaid character portraits with nicer art, a really cool Yoshi's Island pseudo 3D style intro map, etc. The only thing that looks to be reduced on the GBA version is the resolution, which of course was unavoidable there. If they ever make a SNES version too, which they just hinted that this may one day happen, I hope they add much of these improvements there also, certainly the much increased and improved colours, the proper transparency effects, maybe a little extra background layering and parallax, and that kind of thing. And, interestingly, they'll actually be able to add back in a bit of extra horizontal resolution and all the vertical resolution in a SNES port over the GBA version too. Edit: If they ever do make a SNES version, I really want them to support the upcoming new SNES controller made for the also new SNES Doom Definitive Edition, which actually has built in rumble. That would just be so cool.
Very nice, but I do hope they kinda backport some of the graphics back to the Mega Drive version. Just small stuff like the new faces in dialogs and the boxes with the 3D projection make a huge difference in the overall visuals.
@@PyronsLair I also think the colour choices in the MD original were never the best. It's a very NES kind vibe with all the large empty swathes of browns, dirty purples and the like. It could definitely have the better balance of colours and tiles as the GBA version has.
@@akumajobelmont and the MD is capable of to match close enough the GBA port. There's a lot of quitte nice looking action plateform games on the MD to prove it (even homebrews or newer Genesis games. Can I say Castlevania SotN demo ? 😎). As you say, the MD version has a NES++ vibe. WE need a 16bit Vibe upgrade 😉
I prefer the MD version because it's more dark. GBA is good for sure but I don't love how the action is zooming to fit the size screen (sorry for my english) but ... why not ? Good comparaison.
Neofid Studios has certainly been learning, as it shows in the new pixelart. Not factoring in the MD color limitations the background art is by far the biggest improvement. I have funded the original and now the Neo Geo DX version. Pyron, thanks for the comparison, you know I love these! 💪👏👍 Keep up the great work as always!
What do you mean by back in the day? The game is only three or four years old and is an unlicensed independent release; had it been developed and released in the 90's it would have been very expensive since it was in the range of 120mb.
@@shiningphantasy1393 Yeah, I just looked at some footage and assumed it was some UK only MD release back then. Didn't realize it was released fairly recently. Be nice if you find a physical version for the Genesis/MD.

Great video ! Thanks Pyron :)
We are reading your comments and feedbacks, we'll take that into account for the rest of the adventure :)

yeah, it would be cool to have the MD version with updated graphics, I think that's is viable

Nice to see you here my friend, always welcome, thank you!
Adorei a comparação! Mas..... me desculpe a sinceridade: achei a versão do Mega Drive melhor. É mais sombrio e a música é bem mais marcante!
Still prefer the mega drive version. But I'm curious how the neo geo will turn out
Both look great and i prefer gba version. GBA and n64 is getting more homebrew games than the snes.
Kinda' bummed I never knew about this title back in the day. Make sense as it doesn't look like it ever got an N/A release. It looks incredible.

I didn't know the game, better graphics on the GBA.

Looks nice! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Show de bola!
I prefer the megadrive version
Caraca vc é o melhor
DX? Como assim?
Ta entendi DX é do GBA

MD is much better! The music is very bad in gba
